Q.D., he fell on his tailbone/left hip in the 2nd quarter and hasn’t returned. Also, Jason Hart is so utterly useless it’s sickening. It’s like having QRoss at the point. Ugh.

  4. avatar Kevin Said,

And to illustrate my point about Hart, 3 minutes left in the game and he has a +/- of -11. The next closer Clipper to him is Gordon at -2. Everyone else positive.

New season, same 4th quarter collapse. Solid “coaching” by the dunce, as usual. Pardon me while I go puke. Watching Jason Hart run the offense and no weakside help by anyone will do that to you.

  9. avatar andrew Said,

Jason hart sucks period. I would even prefer brevin knight because he rarely turns the ball over and can make a pass. 4th quarter was maddening. Put gordon or novak in ! We scored 5 points of of free throws in about 7 minutes and dunleavy stays with the same group. I will say that thronton was impressive.

  10. avatar Kevin Said,

I also vehemently disagree with the dunce’s play call on our last possession of the 4th quarter. It was essentially the same TT post-up as the one he had just scored, except this time Kenyon Martin knew exactly what was coming and stripped TT easily before he could get a shot off. I would rather have given Mobley the ball on the block or ran Thornton off screens.

Kamans remarks after the game were disturbing on clippers live, “typical clipper loss” he also said thats what we always do, i like kaman but his attitude and non agressive play is starting to piss me off, we lose games because he cant finish strong and nene outplayed him tonite, disgusting loss

  13. avatar Danny Manning's Knee Said,

Another Dunce classic. This guy is just a terrible coach, period. He has absolutely no sense of when the sky starts falling. Who could forget his classic performance as Portland’s coach during the huge collapse in Game 7 of the WC Finals in 2000? His substitution pattern is ridiculous and his play-calling is just pure crapola (What can we expect when the actual plays are unimaginative and plodding in the first place?). Now this overrated dipshit is the GM, too? Jesus. You can make all the excuses you want about Baron & Camby being absent, but there’s no way the Clips should give up an 18-point lead to an obviously lousy team such as Denver. The only thing absent is blood flow in Dunce’s brain. He just stands there with his thumb up his butt while the Clips go several minutes without scoring. Dude… put in Gordon (instant offense who is also willing to attach the hoop) or just hand the offense over to Al T. Why are old-ass Cat and renowned dumbshit TT (despite having an overall good game) having sets run for them at crucial points in the game?! Sterling, eat the millions you owe Dunce and fire his ass, use this as (yet another) rebuilding year. Just blow it up and bring in a smart and imaginative coach who is proactive rather than reactive. Bring in a GM who would’ve actually had the balls to make a trade like Livingston/#1 for AI back in 07.

I truly hate to talk like this, since, as a Clipper fan, I’m an optimist by nature. But I’d rather eat a season just to be rid of Dunce once and for all. Bring back Bill Fitch, make Sam Cassell the HC, I don’t really care. And yes, I’m still damn bitter about the Ewing insertion in the 06 semifinals and the team not making the playoffs in 07, despite having virtually the SAME team and minimal injuries as the playoff team the previous year! I’m still petitioning for a goddamn refund on my season tix from that year! Remember how the dipshit Dunleavy refused to the let the Staples Center scoreboard operators show the GS score during the fateful last game when the Clips were eliminated? That’s a microcosm of how insanely stupid this man is.

Is it just me, or does that awesome playoff season of 06 seem like decades ago?

  14. avatar jgroove Said,

Yep, it does seem like decades ago. And when Kaman is saying that sort of stuff after the SECOND game of the season, it’s time to let him go. Nene was in foul trouble and still had 21 and 11. Kaman is completely ineffective in the low post. Trade him now for another young forward. Shoot, I’d even take someone like Mehmet Okur for him. At least the guy is consistent offensively…Kaman has four years left on his contract and he’s already trying to position himself to get out. The team should move him now. As for the rest of the team tonight..

Ricky Davis – Pointless. Took horrible shots. At least he didn’t turn it over.
Eric Gordon – Why did he only get two minutes of playing time?
Mike Taylor – Why was he not playing in the fourth quarter when the offense was bogged down?
Paul Davis – Actually was more effective defensively than Kaman. Scary.
Mobley – The guy should be coming off the bench. Totally lost a step. Should be down to 15 min a night.
Skinner – Should be playing back up center for Kaman. Not sure why he’s on the floor with Davis.
Thornton – Thank god. Best draft pick since Danny Manning.’Nuff said.
Tim Thomas – Consistent, but too much is being asked of him offensively at this point of his career.
Baron Davis – Clearly one of the best Clipper talents ever, but why on earth did he go so hard to try and block Carter’s shot? Dumb, dumb, dumb move. It’s as though he’s trying to overcompensate for the rest of the team.
Camby – Well help defensively, but won’t be the added offensive punch this team needs.

And that’s what’s glaringly apparent after two games. This team still can’t score. It doesn’t have enough talented young guns to consistently produce points. At least Brand and Maggette were going to get to the line when good defensive teams clamped down on the Clipper overall. How the Clips coaching staff believes this team can score in numerous ways without Davis on the floor is beyond me. The Suns have more options without Nash and he can barely sit on the bench without them loosing a lead.

I’m trying to take consolation in the fact the Warriors, Magic and Spurs are also 0-2, but it’s not helping.

  15. avatar Danny Manning's Knee Said,

I agree with JGroove… TRADE KAMAN NOW WHILE HE STILL HAS SOME VALUE! I’m getting tired of this doofus’ postgame rants, too. Instead of those weak-ass scoop shots and finger rolls, try DUNKING the damn ball. Man, let me be a 7-foot NBA player for one night and that’s all I’d be trying to do! This fool doesn’t have the brains or the heart to be a consistently productive NBA center.

Give Gordon, Taylor and Jordan some PT. They’re the future. God-willing, they’ll outlast Dunce. I’m willing to live through their growing pains. With or without them, this poorly coached squad ain’t sniffing the postseason. Personally, I’d rather miss the playoffs while watching the young studs with potential rather than being subjected to major minutes from TT, Cat, Skinner and Hart.

Another shout-out to our beloved Dunce… PLAY TO THE PLAYERS STRENGTHS, YOU FREAKING IMBECILE! I can see favoring a halfcourt set and pick-and-rolls with an offense featuring EB, Kaman, Cat and Sam I Am. But why are you forcing such gifted athletes such as Al T, Baron, Ricky Davis, E Gordon and Mike Taylor to play in an offense more suited to 40 year old white dudes at the local YMCA?! Think about it, Clipper Nation… are the Clips the only team in the NBA that doesn’t utilize a set backdoor alley-oop play? Every other team seems to get their share of dunks on us… meanwhile, the last exciting dunk I remember from the Clippers was an alley-oop from Lamar Scrodom to D-MIles. Maybe Alvin Gentry learned some things under Mike D’Antoni… I’d even bring HIS ass back to coach at this point! Bring Paul Westhead of LMU fame back to the NBA. If we’re not going to the playoffs, at the very least ENTERTAIN ME. I bring my family to these games and it would be great if they could get excited about what’s actually going on down on the court rather than just the prospect of getting some caramel Popcornopolis or Wetzels Pretzels.

And, don’t fool yourself into believing a healthy Baron and Camby will be the cure-all. They’ll help, but the Clips will still lose. UNLESS Baron just decides to run his own show out there, which I sincerely hope he does. If anyone has the power to put Dunce out on his ass, he’s the one.

I apologize for all this negativity… it’s really not my style. I’ll be all too happy to eat my words if the Clips can finish the season at .500. But I’ve just had enough of the smug, arrogant and WOEFULLY INEPT Dunce. This guy never takes responsibility for his shit and he’s a PROVEN LOSER in the NBA.

You guys can blame Dunleavy and Kaman all you want, and much of it is deserved. But the bottom line is Baron Davis is Mr. Glass. It is always SOMETHING with him. Period. End of story. He is always hurt. If he doesn’t get hurt last night, we win that game EASY.

We were all happy we got him but this is part of it. We will never be at ease for the next 5 years because it’s very likely he could get injured any second and we’re stuck with a 2nd or 3rd string PG running the show.

And looking at the schedule, last night was probably our most winnable game in a while. We may not win our first game for another week and a half.

This was horrible. It looks like as Baron goes, so the team goes. Hart is good for a few fill in minutes but cannot lead the charge in the 4th. The first half energy was awesome, but without Baron everything fell apart.

Camby for Paul Davis will be a huge upgrade.

  18. avatar Trade Kaman Said,

Let’s give Dunleavy a benefit of doubt. Looks like he’s trying to establish his brand of game on this team. If you look at that perspective; we can find some positive outcome.

    1. Al Thornton: Go to guy for this team for next 7 years(alongwith Eric Gordon & Mike Taylor)

    2. New players got a chance to see how our system works. Dunleavy wanted them to watch & learn first, before sending them to court. That’s perfect.

    3. Dunleavy has limitations but he’s solid when it comes to fundamentals.
He has confidence in this team & he’ll build it step by step. Dunleavy has solid work ethic & players will benefit from his coaching. And this time he won’t disappoint Clipper Nation.

    4. If Dunleavy can make Mobley, TThomas & Ricky Davis play well, we can try to trade them for a disgruntled superstars like Vince Carter or Allan Iverson. Even Shawn Marion will do.

  19. avatar Petey Pablo Said,

I sat in section 209 last night. There I am enjoying the first half attack by the Clippers and I could see that they were energized on both ends of the court. The second half was less thrilling. I cant complain about Kaman’s 15 pt 15 rb 4blk stats but he was not effective towards the end. Why was Hart out there for so long when he and the group he was out there with, could not score or defend .They got torched by the Nene / Iverson pick n roll all through the 3rd and 4th qtr.

Kaman got burned on every other possesion, he was the last line of defense and the nuggets killed us . I really dont want to trash talk the team yet but come on …
