Anyone notice that Eric Gordon can’t seem to finish at the hoop very often (gets blocked, gets a charge, can’t convert the contested runner)? He supposedly has a good vertical, but that 6’2″ body may be finding it much harder to covert hoops at this level. Recently, he’s showing pretty good ball handling skills and quickness, but he may have to start hitting pull up and short range jumpers and use his shooting ability to compensate for his lack of size. His 3′s are and long range shots look good.

Hollinger writes. That’s how he makes a living. He has to write about hundreds of rookie prospects every year. No one expect him to dwell deeper into any player. He looks for flashes of greatness. If he doesn’t spot any flashes…why waste time?

If any GM in the league makes decisions based on Hollinger’s analysis, it’s possible, that the player you ignored might end up picked by San Antonio at 34th pick in the draft. And that player might turn out to be another Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili.

But Hollinger is a wiz on numbers. Paul Davis is still the 2nd best player in the draft for his year
