Dissecting the Side-Screen Roll Since 2006

Clippers Acquire Hassan Adams

Posted by Kevin Arnovitz on January 7, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Another local guy comes home, as the Clips acquired swingman and Inglewood native Hassan Adams and cash considerations from Toronto for a future conditional second round draft pick.

New Jersey drafted Adams in the second round of the 2006 draft.  He played in 61 games and made eight starts for the Nets in 2006-07, averaging 2.9 points per game.  Adams spent the 2007-08 season with Ignis Draghi Novara and Siviglia Wear Teramo in Italy before signing with the Raptors as a free agent last summer.

At Arizona, Adams was a dynamic slasher who could create his own shot.  He’s a fierce defender who, ideally, can guard three positions.  When he’s not playing well, it’s because he settles for jumpers, a part of his game that needs work.  His range tops out at 18-20 feet.  Still, a career mark of 53.4% from the field (79-134) is nothing to sneeze at.

Who the hell is this guy? It seems that the Clippers are giving away their second round pick more than once. And for what…more poor players.

This is funny. They acquired Hassan Adams and the same day the clippers let him go. Could somebody explain what was the purpose for this move?
