even though there are many out there that question baron’s character, I still believe in him. don’t get me wrong, i am highly disappointed in his shooting and shot selection, but i never for once thought he is tanking it for the rest of the season or sitting out games as a sign of protest. nobody knows what’s going on in his head so stop the hating and have a lil faith.
sure mardy collins is doing way better than anybody has imagined. but is he really gonna be able to fill that void every night? there are many instances when there should be an easy 2 but mardy can’t get it to that man and results in a turnover, a pass that baron can do with ease. hart is garbage.
so what can we change? dunleavy. now i know that dunleavy isn’t going anywhere any time soon but let’s look at his offense. the offense tends to begin with about 13 seconds left on the shot clock. It either gets swung over to a wing, then to the low post where the big man has like 5 seconds to work, or goes to al for an iso play in which he does his over-exaggerated faking, faking, faking and does some crazy fade away jump shot that never goes in. as much as i like al, they have to stop giving him iso’s (or for anyone cept kobe or bron) and needs to learn how to get a screen, catch and shoot like rip and look to pass when he’s in trouble.
Why can’t we start the ball earlier, swing the ball around a coupe times, set some screens and look for a good shot? There is a play I like where the big men set a double screen for ej and he curls around to get the ball from the high post from camby for a nice drive. However, they run this play on consecutive occasions and is always late in the shot clock so when ej is in trouble, he never has anybody to pass it out to, resulting in a forced shot.
So defending baron, a lot of times, when he passes it, it never comes back. The only time he gets it back, there’s like 3 seconds left and he takes a lot of bail out shots. maybe that’s why he forces some shots up so much out of frustration. Dunleavy used to do a play with sam and elton, with high screen and roll, worked everytime. obviously sam’s a great shooter, and baron is having his slump. But when baron did this with pauldavis and kaman, it worked! Not so much with camby or zach cuz i dont think they give the best screens. Why don’t they run some plays for baron?
Obviously, I’m just as frustrated about baron and the clippers as much as any clipper fan. But saying, we should trade him is JUST CRAZY. dunleavy said he’s going half way with baron but i dont think that’s the case. he needs to realize that most of his plays don’t work with the players he has and needs to run a free flowing offense that create more opportunities for his players. and run too. dont get me started on the defense, tho camby’s a beast. im just tired of watching the point guards yell at their players cuz they don’t know where to be on offense and confused with what play is what, resulting with 8 seconds left on the shot clock and one play or option.
KA, Is there any way we can keep dunleavy as GM and pick up eddie jordan, avery or some other coach?
Problem is that Al Thornton and Baron Davis is hurting us in 4th quarters. The Clippers need Thornton to be a reserve and draft another small forward that has a higher IQ than him and a pass first point guard and put BD on the bench. Plus we need ZBo back he’s out hurt. And we need Kaman but not RickyD he sucks last in the NBA in Player Efficency.

Trade Baron, Novak, Hart, Ricky and Skinner. Clear the house. Try out few young talents from D-League, Euro league with 10-day contract.
Clippers gave chance to Matt Barnes and he’s a reliable pro now.
Baron can fetch something good in a trade. Try fast. Try now. Our patience has its limits.
What’s amazing about this season with the Clippers is how early they were out of it. I don’t have their record of games played in front of me, but, it seems like after 2 or 3 weeks, it was time to phone in the season. Is there any possibility of the league stepping in and getting Sterling to straighten his ass out like they did in NYC?
The Andre Miller comparison scares me. I have hated Miller since he mailed in that entire season with the Clippers.
I dont think Baron is mailing it in (yet?) but i think he does need to start playing smarter. Hopefully he can be smart enough to realize that he can be a distributor on this team insead of a shoot first point.
It’s his attitude of indifference. Ignoring Thornton & Gordon and openly refusing to acknowledge their presence on the court. His DON’T CARE offense is criminally offensive to fans & the owner of this club.

Clipper fans have no personal vendetta against Baron Davis. We just want him out of our sight.
He reminds too much of Andre Miller. Just get out of this town. Or go to Laker house. They might use his services.
