Very, very interesting notes about some of the players on the team and where they are most efficient. As far as I’m concerned there is no better blog that breaks down actual game play as well as you do.

For me, watching this way is really the only way to appreciate the game. I don’t know enough about each player’s stats to definitively say where and when each one should shoot, or what exact situations they should be forcing their opponents into (although EA sports is starting to help with that since their game now tracks that sort of thing). But even without knowing the specific stats for every player in every situation, it’s not hard to know intuitively whether most possessions go down as the should regardless of whether or not it ends in a score, a defensive stop or a turnover.

Maybe watching that way isn’t for everyone, but I prefer to attribute a losses (or the occasional wins) to the possessions that actually cause them. Like a stupid in-bounds turnover (what’s up with those this year?) in the third quarter instead of to a good shot that just didn’t fall as the clock wound down.
