Hopefully Mr. Pansy (aka the 65 million dollar man aka Baron Davis) and Camby play. If so, with Kaman coming back…this could be the first time I can remember that we could field all our talent.

  11. James Said,

wow….how many horrible end of game plays can one team have, pathetic…why was Chris Kaman in the game inside if 4 minutes when he hasn’t plyed in months. Anytime your up 19 in the 3rd you shouldn’t lose…Chris Webber ripped us after seeing that last play. Also why the hell are people rooting to lose to get Blake Griffin, wins with this current squad will go along way towards developing next year and in reality we have a very poor chance of actually getting the 1st pick. Any other pick in this draft is not worth much. DOn’t ever root for your team to lose.

Amen to that! You gotta give the Clipper PLAYERS (not DoneLeaveMe) for playing hard. They were playing perhaps the best road team in the NBA, if not the best team overall. Bou, I wish we had a leader that can actually lead his team to victory with more than just scoring. That dude is inspiring. We need someone like that. Someone that inspires confidence.

  13. bongstradamus Said,

Nobody was ready for the inbounds play, so it goes to Randolph, who scans the court and sees 5 guys standing around the perimeter with nobody open or in a high percentage situation and Z-Bo chucks the brick from halfcourt with 6 seconds left. Dunleavy, sweating bullets and looking like an idiot with his fat stomach hanging over his belt has a nervous grin/wince on his face. hes so embarassed he cant even scream or get pissed off cuz he knows that even though Z-Bo tossed the brick, it was his fault calling the play that left everyone clueless.

It wasnt really Z-Bos fault, nobody was open on the inbounds or when the ball hit his hand, they just stood at their spots looking retarded. He could have called a time out, but didnt. Still, I dont blame him. We still have the chance to foul the Cavs inbound, which we do, and then we put Baron and Camby closest to the hoop with Al near the free-throw line.

Im not a coach, but i would have subbed in my big men to get the best chance at rebounding a missed free throw. Instead we had Camby and a point guard. The same point guard who decides to shoot across the court from the inbounds play for the final 0.6 seconds totally sealing our doom.

This is what we pay for. Complete breakdowns. If this was a legal case, itd be the nail in Dunleavys coffin.

A cpuplw of fundamental mistales here. First, what is a rookie doing inbounding the ball with the team down 2 and only 6 second left. 2 as you pointed out, why didn’t DoneLeaveMe set it up so that the Clips could take a look at the defensive setyp of the Cavs first, then call a timeout to recalibrate, if necessary. Why would you set up The Barren, who by the way was not having a good shooting night, to take the last shot or set up the last play? I’m not a coach, but I do know that in the 4th, the Clips were shooting like the dead skunk I ran over a couple days ago (just kidding- i didn’t run over one). So with that in mind, as a coach, I would’ve probably set up a play for Z-Bo in the post or even a slashing drive by Thornton, and maybe draw a foul somehow, without having to resort to another brick being tossed up. I dunno. This season has been an enigma wrapped in a quagmire, or whatever that saying goes

  15. Slax Said,

For the first time the Clippers starting lineup plays together all season and it definitely made for an exciting game. Staples had standing ovations more than once for the Clipps. Sure there was miscommunication, missed rotations and tentative offense in the 4th qtr, but I believe Dunleavy might have put together what may be a surprisingly good product. Lighten up on all the pessimism already. Let’s see what this team can do for the remainder of the season.

I agree Dunleavy has put together a good product I just don’t think he can coach it…Let him be a full time GM because other then Yarosalv Korolev (I’m not sure who was responsible for that) I think good decisions have been made. He just can’t coach very well, how bout Flip Saunders with Sam Cassell as an assistant.

I truly would like to concur with your sentiments regarding DoneLeaveMe putting together a good team, but with a 19 point lead int 4th quarter…I think that has to be one of the hardest things to blow. Except for the Clippers. What happened to the type of play the Clippers put forth in the first three quarters? Why did we deviate from that in the fourth? Why weren’t they running and playing intense defense in that quarter? Bad coaching, that’s what it was and is. Take the las play, for example. They weten’t even prepared for a contingency, if the defense was good or if the set play was screwed up. Who’s fault is that? DoneLeaveMe! Perhaps this is a good team in place, when healthy. Why ruin it with a 2nd rate coah?I think we need good brains to mentor this young team.

  16. FireDunleavyNow Said,

Wow. The coaching down the stretch was the worst I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot. I could go on and on, but just the last play will suffice. The play was clearly get the ball to Baron, have him penetrate (unless WIDE open,) if stuck in the lane, pass out to Gordon for a three. So Cleveland puts LeBron on Baron. Coach does not make sure the Rook knows to call a timeout in that case. No backup plan. Z-Bo shoots one of his infamous panicked “i’m the man” (see start of game) 3’s. I know I’m preaching to the choir but fire Dunleavy now! I know we are tanking at this point, but you do not tank when you have a last shot to win against one of the best teams in the league on the final play! We need a new system to capitalize on Baron, Eric’s and whatever big men still stand style. Baron has his money. Try as he has, he can’t force a change against the guy that paid him the BIG bucks. Gawd, I’m so angry. Tank, but at least run good plays when meaningful. These stars need the opportunity to shine, or they will give up now, and get into bad habits later.

Is there a way to start a petition and have all the cheated fans sign, in order to get DumbLeavy replaced as coach? What I would really like to see in these last few games of the season is a new coach with this healthy squad. But it may be too little too late. I think DTS is eyeballing another hot prospect to break down and demoralize. That guy is truly sinister.

  19. Jinxed Said,

I have an epiphany as to why we are simply sucking this season. Maybe Baron is purposefully tanking so that this team can accomplish two things: get DumbLeavy fired and get a shot at the #1 pick. Now that is leadership!!! Not!!! Sorry, I’m being delusional. This has been a traumatic season for me. I should put the meds away.

I think Alvin Gentry could do better than Dumbleavy…Gentry coached the 2001-2002 Clipper team to a record of 39-43 (9th in Pacific) with this squad:

    34 Michael Olowokandi C
    42 Elton Brand PF
    50 Corey Maggette SF
    52 Eric Piatkowski SG
    5 Jeff McInnis PG

    45 Sean Rooks C

    54 Obinna Ekezie F – C
    40 Harold Jamison PF
    32 Tremaine Fowlkes SF
