I’m staggered beyond imagination by Clipper management. I just got home and waiting for me was an overnight package from the Clips. Being a season-ticket holder I assumed it was something regarding next season, and possibly a letter of apology for this piss-poor season. But I open it up and instead there is an autographed photo of Baron Davis! Are they kidding. Do they not realize that it is a dead-heat between Davis and Dunce for whom we hold responsible for this debacle of a season? Do they not hear the boos when he touches the ball, when he comes into the game? Do they really think this is an appeasement that an adult would receive and say WOW, what an organization?

This is beyond anything good management could ever think of doing.

I would rather get an autographed picture of Pedrag Drobnyiak instead, or maybe Marco could hook us all up with a signed Adrina Lima pic…

Poor Section 113 – talk about adding insult to injury. An autographed mugshot of the most pathetic loser to ever put on a Clipper uni would brighten my day, too. Especially after another fantastic display of Davizardry in Boston tonite. Baron could make a fortune if only he could figure out how to market himself as ipecac.

Now I know it is bad, even Stian is agreeing with me! I was thinking it is possible that they sent a different photo to different fans…but even so, what the hell is that suppose to do, what am I going to do with an 8 x 11 glossy? Hang it up? I’m 52 years old, what would I possibly want with this?

No wonder we can never win, they can’t even figure out what good PR is.

If it makes you feel better – I think I have an explanation for your ugly Clipper gift. They probably have stacks and stacks, i.e. a 5-year supply, of signed Baron photos at the offices and since word came down from DTS that Baron will be traded in the off-season they have to get rid of everything before they’re outdated and thus even more worthless than they already are. So the LAC marketing mavens figured, “hey, we can’t offer refunds but these piccies will make for a nice gift to appease our season-ticket holders. Nothing says ‘we love and appreciate your continued support’ like a personalized Baron souvenir. He is beloved after all.”

Try to look on the bright side, 113 – you just got yourself a free new dartboard. Or take it with you next time you head to your neighborhood gun range – Baron flashing his 65 mio. dollar ‘I got you, suckas!’ grin will make for mighty fine target practice.

Well a few years ago, we got an autographed glossy of Kerry Kittles, who played like three games for us before his back forced him to retire. Kerry Kittles!

Is Kerry Kittles > Baron Davis? The jury is out.

I’ll take 1 year of a worthless Kerry Kittles over 4 more years of Baron any day. At least Kerry’s contract had the decency of expiring at the end of his LA year. No such luck with Baron.

All Worthless Team… Players being paid lots of money to play for teams that would be better off without them, or are certainly no better off with them.

    PG Baron Davis
    SG Allen Iverson
    SF Tracy McGrady
    PF Zach Randolf
    C Raef LaFreanz

  10. avatar Sam Mays Said,

With a little more research, I’ve added to this team for a list of players you don’t want. Based on next years salaries.

    PG Marbury 21m, Francis 20m, B. Davis 12m, Crawford 10m, Hinrick 9m, Jaric 7m…

    SG McGrady 23m, Hughes 10m

    SF B. Simmons 10m, D. Miles 9m, A. Walker 10m

    PF Milicik 7m, Randolf 16m, K Martin 15m,

    C M Blount 8m, Kaman 10m, Curry 11m, J.O’Neil 21m

I tried to leave off the guys who would have been great (or at least good) had injuries not befallen them like Gilbert Arenas, E. Brand, as well as some others who are just overpaid like Marion and Kirelinko, but still deliver something…. Interestingly, there are 6 Clippers on this list…

Reason, because of a lack of talent, we have had a lot of guys who got the opportunity to put up numbers like Simmons and Jaric. When they left, their careers went down hill because they are expected to contribute to winning elsewhere… Here, they just take up court time.

Of note, MOST OF THE GUYS ON THIS LIST ARE CAREER LOSERS.

Moral of the story… If you’re going to bring people in, get them off winning teams… Don’t grab a guy with stats from a loser, because that’s almost certainly what they’ll continue to do. Lose.

Francis – Bought out by Memphis after trade, waived.
    D. Miles – On the books for his prior deal with Portland. Playing for minimum in Memphis at the moment.
Stephon – Also bought out then waived and playing for minimum in BOS.
Antoine Walker – Bought out by Memphis, waived
Larry Hughes – Is actually playing for what hes being paid now that hes in NY.

people to add to the bought out list:

Keith Van Horn – 3 years @ 7M. first year guaranteed – paid a contract to make numbers work for Kidd-Harris deal.

And Hinrich is playing good ball. For his well rounded skill set as a combo guard, 10M is a fair price.

You should probably add Tim Thomas to that list.
