By now, you’re probably intimately familiar with the Clippers’ lotto odds (if not, take a peek at the chart below, courtesy of Collegehoops.net). D.J. Foster will be covering the NBA Draft Lottery this afternoon for Clipperblog.

Two things most of us need to hope for.

1# That we get a top three pick obviously, haha.

2# That Oklahoma City doesn’t get a top three either. Can you imagine that team then? We wouldn’t even be able to think of sneaking in the playoffs, for a long time, most likely.

Miles(Orange County): If the Clippers get the 1st pick how do they reuin Blake Griffin? Tell him to spend all of his free time with Zac Randolph and Ricky Davis?

Chad Ford: (4:23 PM ET ) Yeah, I’m pretty sure the Clippers is the LAST place Griffin wants to land. Not sure what you do with Zach Randolph. No one wants him via trade. It would be a mess. Will love to see Griffin’s face if the Clippers get the pick. We’ll see his acting chops then.

  I happen to think Chad Ford is a complete wanker but I see nothing wrong with this. Nobody in their right mind would want to play for such a pathetic and dysfunctional franchise, especially one with ZERO track record of developing talent.

no reason to get excited, kids. i usually have a positive outlook on life but ive come to the realization that high expectations always lead to dissapointments when it comes to the clippers.

After EB, SL and the entire last season, i’ve given up hope. If they get the #1 or #2 pick, so be it. I’m so over them.

I just hate the fact that if they do get the #1 or #2, my account rep will have an excuse to call me and tell me how good the clipps will be next year. kill me.

I agree with you kevin. The Clips can’t develop talent for crap. Take Eric Gordon for instance, he sucks! I don’t understand why he was even considered for rookie of the year?

Blake Griffin said in an interview he’s spent his whole life in Oklahoma and would like to go to a major city like New York or LA. And you know he wasn’t talking about the Lakers.

I cried. OMFG, I think I lost my voice and shit my pants too! This is the greatest thing to happen to the Clippers all season.

Sorry, but I can’t stop smiling. How will the Clips handle this one? I can dream of Griffin on the team for at least a month and that makes me happy (especially after Rubio hurt himself the other night, not sure if serious or not). I’m not thrilled Memphis is in the top 3, but whatever, CLIPPERS ARE #1. WE ARE THE BEST!

    I take it back, I just read this Andy Roeser comment after the draft, “I think five years from now Blake Griffin will be hitting his stride in the NBA and he will be an impact player wherever he is,” Roeser said.
    WTF? Stop being dumb and saying stupid things, 5 years? Hate Roeser, fire him now for being dumb, strategic or not he is dumb, DUMB!

Clippers should trade the #1 with the #3 OKC plus the 25th pick. I’m sure
OKC would want their hometown boy. This let’s the Clippers pick the biggest
difference maker in the draft, Ricky Rubio, and still get another nice pick
later on in the first round.

If it goes as expected 1. Blake Griffin 2. Hasheem Thabeet 3. Ricky Rubio

Blake Griffin does not impress me as a difference maker. He may be the next
Kenyon Martin but not the next Karl Malone.

  bad trade idea, terrible in fact. the only reason the Clippers should even think of trading away the #1 pick is if they can get anybody 2-4 to take Randolph or B. Davis off their hands. With Camby in the final year of his contract, they’ll be like last year and have a whole new team come next year. Sadly with Dunleavy as the coach it doesn’t change the results, but I say keep the pick, lose another year, get rid of Dunleavy and we also get Minnesota’s first round pick next year guaranteed!

    We’ll see in 3 year’s time who has made the biggest impact in the NBA. Rubio or Griffin. I have no doubt it’s going to be Rubio. Just watch youtube highlights of them separately, you’ll see the difference.

      I saw the highlight of the other night of a skinny Rubio twist wrong and go down and hurt his rib. After Liuvingston we don’t need another gamble that may pay off big time, that never works for the Clippers, we need Griffin.

  Even I don’t think they could ruin Blake Griffin. They could trade him for Dunleavy Jr. though. Good thing is Sterling likes draft picks because he doesn’t have to pay them as much.

Unfortunately, there is no place to play the kid with Randolph, and no one in their right mind is going to take Randolph. This fortune is counterbalanced and ultimately destroyed by the utter stupidity of everyone in the organization for taking on the Randolph contract. The Clippers could have had a pretty good team next year with Kaman, Gordon, Thornton, and Griffin and Davis (not a fan of Davis but no one will take him either and there is a chance he could turn his quitting ass around a little and be somewhat serviceable). Camby could be traded for a decent role player small forward type. Throw in Jordon and Taylor and throw out Dunce and you have a darn good team except for Kaman, who borderline sucks. All this niceness is lost however, because of Zack Randolph, and Mike Dunleavy, the only man in the NBA stupid enough to take that anchor on.

I have to take some credit for the Clippers luck tonight. Earlier today a bunch of NBA fans at the company I work for were running the draft simulator app online and I got the Clippers with the first pick three times in a row in front of everyone. I just felt it in my bones after that kind of the good karma swing from the bad Elton Brand fiasco last year.

Okay its getting about time for all the haters to Stfu already. With the addition of Griffin, the core nucleus looks damn promising. De Andre, Griffin, Gordon, Thornton, and Taylor will be fun to watch and the team of the future. The Dunster has done well in recent drafts to get some talent. Now let’s see if he’ll do the right thing and hire a new coach.
