OK you’re right…Dunleavy has fallen very short for about three straight years. I guess my optimism here stems from my belief that the worst possible situation would be dunleavy for another year…if they have another poor year and it doesn’t look like mdsr has the young guys going in the right direction, even dts couldn’t bring him back. Perhaps following this line of thinking the worst situation could be if they showed “significant improvement” like Isaiah’s knicks a few years back.

John R and Jax – I love reading you guys! Don’t worry Jax, we know the coaching problem isn’t going away without being addressed, shame it’ll take half a season wasted for it to happen. They may do well DESPITE MDSr, not because of his coaching.

Still, tonight should be historic in Clipperland with our first Franchise player being drafted and I’m hoping we’ll make some move to pick up a late first rounder or early second rounder too.

Sure john, we’ll ignore “personal feelings about MDSr.” But the MDSr issues aren’t really “personal feelings” and I suspect you know that. Let’s not ignore the critical problems associated with his management and coaching of the team. Or maybe we can ignore those objective issues and stick our collective heads in the sand.

Having said that, I am excited about Blake Griffin. It’s a start at least.

Looks like the knicks are gearing up a trade for Camby…they just bought the 29th from the other team in LA. Although I don’t want to see Camby go…must get rid of cancer kaman!!!

blake’s gonna be a clipper and simmons can kiss my ass and eat my toejam as well.

trade kaman. hard to judge his value with the injuries, but even less than fair value is fine by me. this club needs as fresh a start as possible.

I enjoy BS articles but as a regular reader I certainly get the impression that he stretches to make his points.

Obviously curses aren’t real, most of the failures of this organization can be attributed to poor decision making and a cheap owner–but Sterling started showing with Brand and Maggette that he was willing to spend to win, and most of the decisions they’ve made since at least reflected good intent–and many have been smart (last years draft class for example).

We can all agree on one thing…we have a good collection of young talent to build around, and some good assets which we can use to acquire what else we need (mostly)… I have a lot of faith that within 2-3 years the clippers will have a new mojo. There are at least 15 teams in the league with a worse situation that we have, ignoring personal feelings about MDSR.

I’m still undecided who to trade because I’d pick ZBo first but he’s tough to move so I’d go with Camby. Kaman has had some injuries but he boy has some skills and could be the long term answer with the younger core.
Bill Simmons can kiss my ass too. At a time where we can be really positive for a change, he’s loving writing downbeat Clipps articles – get back to supporting Boston you Celtics lover!

In your scenario, the best outcome is that Griffin’s work ethic rubs off on Kaman. Trade Kaman now if we can get value, play Camby at C, Randolph at PF and then rotate Griffin through both off the bench while he develops his mid-range game. This fits with what KA is hearing from the developmental gurus. DJ fills in as needed. If we are in playoff contention, which seems unlikely, we hold Camby and go for it. If not, we hope he stays healthy and trade him around the deadline. After Camby’s gone, DJ takes Camby’s minutes and we hope the playing time gets him ready to take a Bynum-like jump in 10-11.
