Clips Send Richardson to Minnesota for Telfair, Smith, and Madsen

Posted by Kevin Arnovitz on July 20, 2009 at 12:20 pm

From Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo! Sports:

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached an agreement in principle to trade guard Quentin Richardson to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen and Craig Smith, leagues sources said Monday.

Richardson is quickly becoming the Mike Remlinger of basketball.

More information coming.

This trade is confusing. Craig Smith was actually looking pretty good, but isn’t he more of an undersized 4 than a true 3? I believe he was playing the 3 and made it work (on Minnesota, mind you), not entirely sure. Telfair is more of a true point guard than Taylor, but not a major upgrade, and someone with a bad attitude. Busted at least twice for trying to smuggle a handgun onto the team plane. And I hope we cut Madsen ASAP, no matter what Mike thinks.

Why cut Madsen? I’m pretty indifferent to his game, but if you want positivity and work ethic, he seems to be your guy.

If by work ethic you mean waving towels on the bench, and by positivity you mean mindless, and embarrasing, cheering, I think I’ll pass. Madsen isn’t even valuable as a practice player.

What the hell is Dunleavy doing??? Can we just have a complete team already so we know what we will have this coming season. Also can we put an end to the Iverson saga, either sign him or stop mentioning that they want to meet!

I’d guess telfair must put an end to the AI discussion…unfortunately also to Sessions talks. I believe Telfair has two years and 5mil left on his contract
