I remember draft day vividly that year…I heard rumors of a promise to Korolev and just hoped it was speculation. I remember when our pick came I was hoping for Danny Granger, Joey Graham or Antoine Wright. I was wathcing with some friends who were not clipper fans and they mercifully made fun of me for hours. They flashed a graphic where Koroloev averaged .8 rebounds per game or something like that and 1.3 ppg….it was a depressing day and I almost stopped being a clipper fan.

Your comment about Baron rings disturbingly true. Ironic that one of the moves that people resoundingly supported could be his worst….while less popular moves such as the Randolph acquisition, or botching the Brand deal (Dunleavy must bear some fault) seem to have worked out for the best.

I thought I was over the wound… But the scab has been removed! That pick haunts me to this day!

Especially when the Clips had a three year need for outside shooting! Granger is an outstanding long-range gunner and would be a nice match-up in playoff series.

Where is Koralev now? My guess is that he is the ‘one’ that Ms. AK47 gets per year…
