The Principals in the Minny Deal

Posted by Kevin Arnovitz On July - 20 - 2009

Craig Smith
Position: Undersized 4 (6-foot-7)
Contract: 1 year, $2.5M
2008-09 PER: 17.01
Comment: Smith is an extremely efficient offensive creature, though he needs to step away from the table if he wants to be able to guard quicker, longer face-up 4s and perimeter 3s. Smith shot 47.9% on 2-point jumpers — one of the better figures in the league. A useful piece to have.

Richardson is quickly becoming the Mike Remlinger of basketball.

More information coming.

Here’s the link over at TrueHoop.

And here’s my Twitter feed if you’re on the go, or just prefer twitter.com.

Summer League Notes

  • There are two primary reasons why Eric Gordon has missed each of the past two games: [1] He has a bruised leg, though it’s nothing serious. [2] He’s been invited to Team USA mini-camp here in Vegas next week. “We don’t want to kill him,” assistant general manager Neil Olshey said.  There’s a precedent for too much summer basketball taking its toll in the subsequent season. As disappointing as it is not to see him play, sitting out makes sense in the longterm.
