Robinson played for Isiah Thomas when he was coaching the Knicks. That’s reason enough not to want him. When you add the fact that he doesn’t pass and doesn’t defend, you discover he’s a poor man’s Iverson… Why settle for him when you can have the real Iverson come and ruin your team?

So are we talking trade with MIL in the event NY signs Sessions to an offer sheet, MIL can match it and trade him to us?

And why havent we talked about Nate Robinson if we want a backup combo guard? Sells tickets, is young, is strong, and presently in limbo with NY.

Good news about sessions…I’m with DJ at this point: Just go somewhere dammit!

Because there’s nothing better to do at this point of the season, I was flipping through SF FAs for 2010 a few minutes ago. If we sign Sessions we’ll be taking ourselves out of the running for the biggest FA names in 2010 (barring a Kaman or Davis trade)….Doubt we could get Johnson for the (6-7mil?) that we’d have to offer.

If things DO happen to go this way, we’d more than likely still be looking for a young SF who can shoot and defend, as well as fill in those other “glue” non-stats.

Not a lot applicable of names on that list that we’d be able to find for MLE money. Marvin Williams, RFA this season, seems like a good option. Some other names that jump out: Travis Outlaw, Mike Miller, Amir Johnson, Yakhouba Diawara. jkjk.

Johnson is a very talented and complete basketball player…his poor showing in the playoffs last year did make me a little worried though.

FYI, that blog post about not signing Johnson in ATL is ludicrous. That team was on life support before he came there. Guy is a silent leader and assassin. I’d take him on the Clips (or any team for that matter in a heartbeat).
