Watch some of the games. If you were watching last night instead of chanting, you would have seen a team that was running, that had lots of motion in its offense and was playing inspired basketball. It was pretty clear that Dunleavy has adjusted to the players he has on this team… In the past he had power post players and ran an offense accordingly. It wasn’t his fault that the last two years were marred by injury.

When you’re chanting “Fire Dunleavy” while the team holds a 19-point lead, you look like a moron.

We get it, you want Dunleavy fired. That’s great. Many other fans do too. However, there are appropriate times to chant (i.e. when the team is losing, bad plays are being called or bad substitutions), but when they are winning?

Asinine.

I think last night did a lot in showing us what kind of team this will be. Every player, and it started with BD, was hounding on defense and constantly looking to create turnovers to get out and run. I know it’s preseason but it was refreshing. You can’t fake effort and defense is all about effort. Strong ball denials, tips, decisive traps on PGs from pick rolls, etc.

AT: either he knows his jobs on the line or he’s finally getting it. Defensively he played the best game I’ve seen him play in a while.

Half court offensive: this will be a work in progress. Didn’t look sharp or particularly clever. Looks like this team will rely on defense and getting out on the break.

Firedumleavy: I think it’s BS they threatened to bounce you guys. Fans can’t be vocal? What a damn joke. We can’t get ppl in seats after the AS break and we are gonna kick out ppl who care about the team and go to games ? Real smart. Also, once you guys got the players attention it was truly hilarious. WE WANT RICKY. They loved it.

The game has changed dramatically in the last 6 years and Dunleavy has completely failed to adjust. With the exception of the Spurs (who have one of the greatest coaches and players of all time), grind-it-out half-court teams are not winning championships. We all know that 05-06 run can be attributed to Cassell so Dunleavy gets little credit there. The Clippers were dead last in second half scoring margin and second to last in 4th quarter scoring margin last year, and that tells you all you need to know about Dunleavy’s terrible coaching. He may have the most brilliant and complex playbook in the league, but he simply cannot make the necessary in-game adjustments.
