From Chris Broussard at ESPN.com:
For now, this is a rumor because I haven’t verified it with sources close to the situation, but I’ve been told by a few people around the league that the Stephen Jackson trade talk is heating up. I’m told that Golden State is mulling several offers, and one person told me he expects something to happen within the next few days. I don’t know the particulars of any supposed offers, but I’m told Cleveland, Denver, San Antonio, New Orleans and the Los Angeles Clippers are all interested in Jackson.
The Clips ongoing search for a playmaking 3 is no secret. Jackson’s game includes many of those desirable skills — he’s incredibly versatile — but it’s important to keep in mind that Jackson’s 3 year/$27.8M contract extension kicks in next season. Acquiring Jackson would take the Clips out of the running for a premium or even semi-premium free agent next summer. On the other hand, see many better flex forwards on the market?

This is not the kind of news we need after a loss to the Lakers.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I think Jackson is a good player and can help the Clippers win some games. His attitude needs some adjustment, but pairing up with Baron again may help this team with scoring and defense. It seem like the marquee free agents in 2010 will probably stay with their teams. So we should look into this in hopes that if Jackson is added, he will help the team now and in the long run.

After last night, perhaps Clippers shouldn’t look for a player to compliment Baron, they should find one they can trade him for, one with a good attitude.

If we’re taking ourselves out of the market for LBJ, then I would much rather it be for Tayshaun Prince or Shane Battier. Prince is an LA native, and will defend rather than look for his shot. Bringing in SJax, while a talented player, will mean even less touches for EJ. Not to be a dead horse, but Jackson comes with considerable baggage, and I like the positive energy Blake has brought to the team. And somehow, I don’t see MDSr. and SJax getting along.

I can see what you’re saying about Jackson and Dunleavy…Dunleavy is pretty much all intents and purposes a Don Nelson disciple, having played for ol’ Nellie back in Milwaukee in the mid-80s. You think Stephen has problems playing for Nellie…wait until he gets a load of Dunleavy.
That being said…it wouldn’t surprise me, after all Dunleavy traded for Zach Randolph, what…four or five games into the last season? If so, it’ll be a typical Dunleavy panic move. I know we could use help at the 3, but it seems like bringing Jackson here would be more trouble than what it’s worth. If we somehow pull the trigger to get Battier or Prince, let’s go for it.

I thought the Steven jackson thing would come into play here. I think he is the perfect fit for our team, But i also think that would mess the plans for this next offseason up. But me i would have to take a hard look at it. And on the other hand for next year nothing is for sure. I really blieve we are a one player away and Stephen Jackson is a pretty good fit.

Oh and by the way laknights that is a great suggestion. i would trade Baron for Stephen straight across that way we could still make it happen next year. You could put Eric Gordon at the piont with Tellfair as back up.

Not sure why there’s even trade talks after one regular season game. Here’s another prime example of Dumbleavy at work.
The team looks great, outside of the fact that yes, BD had a horrible game. But you have to admit that he did look good in the 1st quarter.
Some positive highlights from last night’s game: Eric Gordon speed and athleticism, Craig Smith’s 1st half performance, and Telfair’s playmaking abilities.
If the Clips get Jackson, they would have to trade either Thornton and/or Butler, or move Thornton to the PF and have Butler back-up Jackson. And, if you’re thinking move Jackson to the SG position, no way! Eric Gordon is the future for the Clips at SG, and I want him to start.
And to make this work financially, Clips would have to either trade Camby for Jackson straight up, which would ruin the team’s chances of picking up a key free agent in 2010, or they would have to trade Kaman for Jackson and add an additional player, which would then deplete the team at the center position being that Camby is old and Jordan is inexperienced as a starter.
So, I’m not sure what’s the point of this, outside of the fact that it will be fun watching BD and Jackson launch up 30 3-point attempts, shooting 20% from the field (an exaggeration, but you get the point).
And final note: Clips lost to the defending Champs…although I’m not a Laker fan by any means, losing to the Lakers in the first regular season game is not a BIG deal!

Great points, and he wouldn’t work with Dunleavy’s system.

Remember it’s just a rumor. Why would we trade to a team that we will be competing for the 8th spot? Does not make any sense, Md and Niel have made nice moves during the off season to pull this dumb trade. Besides, I think the team needs a few more games to start jelling. We know now that Gordon is our go to scorer and Craig Smith is our starting or back up power forward.

I don’t think Golden State does it anyway. They’d want Gordon and the Clips ain’t giving him up. There are cap issues at play though and the clips have that unprotected No. 1 from Minn next year they can dangle. Though I’d much prefer to dangle it for Prince…
I do like Jackson though. I think it’s not about Baron, it’s about a wing who can hit the big shot in crunch time and get some board consistently. Jackson was very affective with real bigs in San Antonio. Imagine him on the other side of Gordon? Definitely an upgrade over Butler (who I like). And if we can get rid of Thornton with it? Might be too hard to pass up.

stephen jackson will give clippers defense on the wing and another scorer. and an upgrade
over thornton or ,butler.
trade thornton for jackson that makes butler on the bench and can change for gordon or jackson on the wing…
but include ricky davis on the trade he suckssss…
just my perception….

If this trade were to happen it’ll be Camby for Jackson bundled with a small fry. Their yearly salaries are in the same ball park and Golden State is looking for a big guy. Sorry to break it to you guys, but Baron Davis, Chris Kaman and Al Thornton are not going anywhere.
The real question is: are the Clippers and Warriors willing to trade to each other despite being in the Pacific division?

Don’t do it !! This is a bad move, clips should wait for the free agent market. I think we have a good chance of landing Joe Johnson.

Here’s an ideal scenario.
Trade Camby with Thorton for Jack. Clips make the playoffs and the Heat don’t. Wade is unhappy in Miami and demands a sign & trade to the Clips. Sign and trade Wade for Baron.

The Clippers are serious heart breakers. Loaded with talent every year, give you a boner about an upcoming season, and then they fall apart. Will they win a game this year?

Newspapers wrote that a certain Curtis Ward gave Keflex to his wombat, after this it took a saw and tried to do a blowjob to a mouse. Then Godzilla appeared and solved the incident with a Lexapro tablet. So beware! Certainly, we should buy Lexapro without prescription online from Canada to be apart of such horrible stories. http://riie.us/?a=8552 qqlxndx

[...] Speculation that its not Stephen Jackson that is going to be out of Golden State soon but rather Don Nelson (Link). Are Clippers interested in Jackson? (Link). [...]
