“Meanwhile, the Griz don’t appear to be any closer to finalizing a contract extension with forward Rudy Gay. The team has until Saturday to negotiate a deal, but it is more likely that Gay will become a restricted free agent next summer.”
Could be an interesting option if we can’t land one of the top tier free agents.
Yup. The chances of Memphis matching any decent offer is pretty unrealistic, considering their money situation. Someone might be able to get Rudy for a good price.
I’ve said this before, he’s not that much of an upgrade over Al Thornton, besides the cachet he has around the league as a rising star. Paying big money for a miniscule upgrade over Al who also doesn’t defend is a bad move.
I think Rudy Gay will find the market for his services are not quite what he hopes it’ll be… I’d say he a 5 – 7 million a year player. I’d be surprised if he gets more than that… Especially considering how bad that team is going to be this year… Once again, proving that picking up Z-Bo is always the worst move a franchise can possibly make.
same ole story….
the Clippers cant score in the 4th while either
a. they cant stop the other team
or b. THEY OTHER TEAM DOES NOT MISS
it depends how you look at it ……
reminds me similar situations that we are faced with where we have a 2 pt lead or are tied…or are behind 2 …
when Sam Cassell would just hit a shot to either tie, take the lead, or inrease the lead….
but right now we are lucky if we stay close in the 4th….
i mean really
CAN WE JUST FUCKING WIN ?
in this case hes not a bum i know…
but i bet milsap is not going to play like hes playing the rest of the season
i mean really has he even missed a shot?
the one positive….trend….
our bench is really good and better than most benches…..that is going to be our chance to take leads in game ….
i hope we can trade ricky davis and acouple other bums for something
ANYTHING
….
4th quarter was vintage Clippers. All it took was a minute of bad basketball and the Jazz were off not to be caught again. And you just knew the Clippers were done – you knew they couldn’t respond. Absolutely atrocious D and slow rotations and Baron and Al taking bad shots.
Until this team gets a player that can take over down the stretch – and I hope to God it’s Blake Griffin! – this team will go absolutely nowhere.
I hope we don’t fold completely after we are 0-4 after the Dallas game.
Nothing has fuckin changed. Carbon Copy of last year. Stale predictable offense. Wasted talent. Shitty defense. Poor fundamentals.
You can see it in the players faces, They know they should be beating these teams but they are being stifled by a conservative coach. You don’t go into games adjusting to the other team…You knock the shit outta the other team!!! The Clips were just going through the motions in the 4th like fucking robots just feeding the ball to Kaman. Then Baron would try to dribble to the hoop when the ball wasn’t worked to kaman. The jazz picked up on this at half time as good teams do. They put more players on Kaman and adjusted for Baron.
Why werent Gordon and Butler allowed to shoot more 3′s?!! I know Baron launched a couple of bullshit shots, and took some opportunities, but the ball has to make it to their hands more. Novak shouldve been in the game taking shots. We need an inside / out game. Pound it down low with our bigs and kick it out when doubled…simple as that. We have all the talent to do this, but it is being wasted on the bench.
A 1-40 record against the jazz in utah!!! Players shouldve been pumped up for this game long ago…but it was the same ol same ol in the fourth quarter. This starts from the top down. Play with some heart like you want to beat the shit outta of a team for disgracing you all these years!!!

well said…
on the bright side…
we have been playing OK….JUST NOT ALL GAME….
if we play well all game (ESPECIALLY THE 4th)
against the Mavs we can beat them…and i think we can beat the Wolves….
and the Warriors should be a victory….
but we need that damn elusive first victory and even though we have lost 3 games
(i was ready to give up)
we have looked pretty good….the only thing that keeps bother me is AL
he shoots AND NEVER MAKES SHIT…..
it gets me just as mad when he shoots when Corey Maggette used to shoot back in the day…his game is the hoop so why not fucking drive?
i would sasy we need to start Rasual (its obvious he is more talented) but then AL would probably make our bench crap and i think our bench is one of the better ones in the league….
How does Mike Dunleavy have a job? How? Sweet Lord of all that is merciful and pure, how is he employed? While his teams’ perpetual failure to get defensive stops at any point in the fourth quarter of games speaks poorly about his players, it’s an outright indictment of him. Why, God, won’t this team compete on the defensive end? The only difference I can see between this year and last year (and the one before) is how much worse the losses hurt in the face of my naive optimism.
Out Rebounded 48-35 with a top front line of Camby, Kaman, DJ, And Smith is abominable to say the least. How many more losses does it take for the team to take action?
This team has no leadership whatsoever. In the playoff year a few years back, at least we had Sam Cassell and Elton Brand who could hit key shots down the stretch and pull us out of ruts. Those guys didn’t allow the Clippers to lose. Now, other than Baron Davis who always falls apart down the stretch and Eric Gordon who is still too young, no one can hit a shot when we really need it. Certainly we can’t count on the inconsistent Al Thornton or Chris Kaman, and Marcus Camby is NOT an offensive weapon, nor will he ever be. This team needs to make a move for a proven, veteran leader not afraid to take critical shots.
Cassell could turn a badly designed play into something.
Kaman might have more value now than he’s ever had. Keep feeding him the ball and trade him before he gets hurt.
Clippers should beat Dallas Saturday. Mavs players are probably partying/making halloween plans cus they just beat the Lakers and are gonna take the Clippers lightly. If the Clippers can get a 20pt lead going into the 4th, they might be able to hold on to win.
