From the Clippers’ release:
Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Gordon will miss a minimum of ten days with the sore left groin he suffered in the fourth quarter of the Clippers’ 113-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on November 7th.
In seven games played this season, Gordon has averaged 18.9 points, 4.0 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 38.4 minutes per game.
A 10-day timetable would leave the Clippers without Gordon for five additional games, with a sixth game (home against Denver on November 20) a question mark.
UPDATE: Regarding Gordon’s timetable and the Clippers’ schedule, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that EJ “will miss a minimum of six more games and won’t return until Nov. 23 against Minnesota at the earliest.”

what else is new? I give up on this team, from what I hear they sound like they gave up. Baron needs to be a leader, but that won’t happen.

Oy, after last night’s debacle this easier schedule up front has just become a lot more difficult. Possibly the worst time ever for the supposed Clippers curse (that I don’t believe in but sheesh) to rear it’s ugly head. We need some help bad, if the Dunce has any coaching ability which I doubt he needs to show it now. Sadly, he now has another excuse to blame losing ways on if things don’t turn out well. Time for Ricky Davis to do that whole ‘contract year’ play.

If Eric is back before mid-December I will be shocked. Thanks for nothing, Jasen Powell.

I bet we go 0-6 in this stretch, the 2 effective players in the 1st 7 games were Kaman and EJ.

I hope some good movies come out soon so I’ll have something to do while I’m not watching Clipper games… This is going to be brutal… The two players I was looking most forward to were Gordon and Griffin… Sheesh…
Big problem is, now we only have one quick defender in Sebastian Telfair… We won’t be able to guard a chair. It’s time to dump Rush and see what’s available for a quick player in the d-league…

Can we get a post on Clipperblog about Chris Kaman not being put on the All Star Ballots?

they had to select the players before the start of the season and went with Camby instead of Kaman based on last season’s numbers. Kaman could still make it because the ballot is just for starters and neither he nor Camby would’ve had the most votes of any center, especially with Amare Stoudamire being listed as a C on the ballot when he’s their starting PF. It’s a flawed system but hopefully with all the uproar & Kaman’s continued play he will be selected. It’s not going to be easy now as he is our #1 option on all levels right now with Gordon out.

If you start Novak and Butler, then all of a sudden you are back to having two 3 point shooters sitting outside. This keeps the defense off of Kaman’s back down low and also allows Baron to continue posting up. Our offense stays intact for the most part.
With that said, we are going to have a really rough time defensively with Novak in there, but Al Thornton really isn’t known for his defense either. We still probably lose most of the games that Gordon misses, but at least we’d have a chance to steal a couple of them in shoot-out type style.

I’ve been thinking along the same lines. Novak would be my 1st option to start, Ricky Davis 2nd, and Al Thorton 3rd.
We saw how poorly the BD, Mobley, Thornton, Kaman starting unit started off last year. This would be very much the same story if Dunleavy doesn’t put a 2nd shooter in there.

I’m one of the most negative people you can find but 10 days? That’s not that bad. We won’t play as bad as last night. I’m not worried.

Great. Another excuse for Dunleavy to use when we start losing these upcoming games.

Any body care to trade for S. Jackson? I like the guy with Baron to keep him in check. Would be happy to trade Al, Ricky and Mardy. For salaries the trade would work and it would give the Warriors cap space next year with two expiring contracts plus Al. Not sure if the Warriors can take three for one? Any thoughts, other than S. Jackson is cancer like Ricky, and Jacksons contract is too long for his age?

I think your final thoughts nailed it. He seems to be a quick fix like Randolph was last year but not the long term answer. There would go our cap space to offer a max deal this summer.

I wouldn’t go for anyone who’s not a character guy. Jackson isn’t. Put him with Baron and it will be the lunatics running the asylum around here again.
The key is not to panic. This year is about figuring out who to keep and who to get rid of while trying to grab the 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs. We have Blake to figure out and see how Jordan continues and if Baron is someone who can be relied on for another three years… Gordon is proving he’s a keeper, while Thornton is failing the test. We’ll have plenty of moves to make this summer… Let’s not make them now out of desperation.

I heard Clippers are bringing Derrick Martin out of retirement for a 10-day contract.

I just saw on first take that Zach Randolph finally broke someone’s jaw…without trying!
Hasheem crashed down on Zach’s head last night with a bad result.

This has got to be the most snake-bitten franchise in the history of the NBA.
If you believe in Karma then you know where the Bad Karma comes from..
thats right Mr Sterling Himself!!! Thanks a lot Donald!!

kwhy8strm do not feel so bad. The Warriors and 76 ers are worse. Now Elton B is complaning with playing time.

If Kaman wasn’t such a wuss last year, he’d be on it.

Dunleavy has to be fired. He has been given too much talent for too many years and has gotten his teams to under perform time after time. Get rid of him now before we have to sit through another wasted season.
