Excellent post Kevin. It gave me a better understanding of what happened last night.

It's a strange thing being a Clippers fan. There was a moment--when they were down by two with the ball--when I almost thought they were planning on winning it.

They have some swagger, and they feel very close to being an excellent team. When Blake fills the role we desperately needed tonight the Clips will be a force. Everyone is playing hard, and they almost seem like they're having fun too. I love what Baron, EJ, Camby and Al are all doing.

I like this team...i disagree with most of the comments on this site.

When do we talk about the Great Bench Conspiracy?

This isnt an isolated thing. EVERY single game the past 2 weeks our bench hardly sees the floor. We keep wondering why we fall apart in the 4th, but the box score is written in neon when it comes to minutes played.

Key players fouling out. Starters exhausted. Leads squandered.

Its all a direct result of bad rotations. Our bench gets less than an average of 5 minutes of play per game and we wonder why we cant close out.

Ditto rockets10's comment about your very good analysis. I watched Landry a lot when he was at Purdue and he appears to be an over-achiever at first glance. However, he fits within Houston's system and a real scorer off the bench. Houston keeps the ball moving, unlike the Clippers who do a lot of iso plays to one side with the rest of the Clips watching on. I've always thought Camby was best as a 2nd defender and Kaman seems to expend most of his energy on the offensive end, leaving little for defense.

The Kings are better than LA record wise.. OKC made kobe score 40 pts to beat them last night.

Clippers seem to play best in an slightly more up-tempo style. All this Iso playing takes a bunch of time to setup and in crunch time, makes the team vulnerable to turn overs.

How about letting one of the assistant coaches try a new scheme and let Dunleavy take a personal leave ( wink wink ) for a period of time.

The Clips just have zero strategy. You can tell going into this game that the Rockets had a plan and executed - I don't think I've seen this once from the Clippers all season. You watch the halftime Dunleavy interviews, it's like he knows exactly how the other team is beating him but is completely incapable of doing anything about it in a "well, what do you expect ME to do about it?!" way. I'll give him some credit - he's created a team that, in theory, should be competitive. But it's not, and it's because he's probably the worst coach in the league given the amount of experience he has.

Telfair is averaging 15 min, I think Dunleavy can get it down to under 12 if he keeps complaining.
