Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin underwent successful surgery on his left knee Wednesday morning at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Center in Los Angeles.
The two-part procedure, specifically termed a left patellar fragment excision and a patellar tendon repair “couldn’t have gone better” according to Dr. Neal ElAttrache who performed the surgery. Dr. ElAttrache was assisted by Dr. Steven Shimoyama, the Clippers’ Team Physician. Dr. ElAttrache went on to say “the expectation is that Blake will undergo a sequential rehabilitation program that should have him back in action in four to six months.”

Since they lied to us about the initial injury, I’m going to assume the surgery went horribly and that Griffin will at most get 60% of this athleticism back.

I don’t think they lied. If you’ve ever had knee surgery, it is unpleasant and the rehab difficult. Surgery is a LAST resort. The doctors did exactly what the injury called for, waited to see if it would heal successfully on its own. When it didn’t, they went with surgery.

“Couldn’t have gone better” – You’ve gotta wonder if that means “Well, I don’t think I almost killed him like I almost killed Tom Brady…but we’ll see.”

It should be ready by August. Wish you well Blake.

When I read, “couldn’t have gone better,” I initially read couldn’t as could go better, and I about blew a gasket right there. Now I’m giggling about my illiteracy.

When you talk about the Clippers, almost anything is possible(except maybe winning consistently.)

I hope the Dr. has weak public speaking skills… I didn’t see much confidence in his entire explanation of the process or his answers to the some of the questions the reporters were dishing out.. I think aside from the Clips we all gotta hope that Blake the person gets back on top.. The guy can be somethign special in this league someday
