No one has been more down on Dunleavy than me, but I find this ironic. Doing this when and how he has done it, Dunleavy has done something very positive for the team. He actually had done a better job coaching this year (though not great). He seemed to be loosening the reins by allowing a big personality like John Lucas to join the staff and allowing Baron to play with a little more flow. Despite our record, Dunleavy is not leaving the cupboard bare for the new coach. Any top flight coach would like to go to battle with this squad, especially with Blake coming back next season. If they make the right hire and Dunleavy makes the right off season moves, the future could be incredibly bright.

Jerdog, the TEAM plays much better with Gordon than without Gordon in the lineup. Gordon can drive and shoot, so he keeps defenses honest. He’s the only guard on the Clips in the last two years who plays good D.

There are a lot of teams who’d love to have EG. EG is the least of the Clippers’ problems right now.

Thanks, Mike, for everything you have done to turn this franchise around since you got here. Most people on this blog weren’t part of the dog-day Clipper years during the late 80s and 90s. Gotta like his comment during a recent interview that this is a man’s game. Kaman, Gordon, take note.

BTW, Gordon is too short and is over-rated. Can’t finish, dribble, make good decisions, or rebound. Taller players post him up. Since he has trouble making free throws, gotta question his shooting ability, too.

I think he’s been a very good GM. All they need is an “elite” NBA player, and one of the handful available this year will be a great fit. The Clippers do have solid guys, but none of them (even Baron) is “that” guy. They are all really 2nd/3rd option players. Sam-I-am was “that” guy, and look how well they did with him.

Whether Dunleavy is a great GM will be seen this summer.
