if EJ would have made his dunks on his first attempts he probably would have moved on…they were nice
and i give him a huge amount of credit because its not his forte but he showed us something and after watching the dunk contest tonight (probably the worst ever) he could have probably won this thing

TNT57 I think you nailed it, Griffin is way too shy for his own good, and it hurts his game a little. He seemed nervous the whole time he played in the Rookie/Soph game as well, more so than last year even. Maybe he was thinking too much about the Dunk contest.

First, Eric Gordon is so intimidated by the lights and cameras and needs to relax. He should have never accepted the invitation to the dunk thing. He’s not a high flying athlete. Rasul is a better choice. I also think Blake Griffin will not shrink from the spot light next year and will dominate the All-star Rookie game.

EJ’s dunks were nice, but he did miss several times first. Also, overall I think DeRozan really did not look like he was trying; I think he has some nastier stuff planned for the actual contest. I have no problem with DeRozan in the contest over EJ; it was really weird they invited him in the first place.

I agree with everyone; EJ needs to be more aggressive. I don’t really care what he does in the Rookie-Sophomore game though.

I do think Eric’s dunks were better but it was clear DeRozen wasn’t giving it his all. When the opening promo touts DeRozen as “The Showman”, and EJ as “The Unexpected”, that almost guarantees one mans success.

No bias, EJ’s dunks were more violent and better use of body control. It’s definitely the amount of attempts that worked against him. Had he made both on the 1st try, it would’ve been a lot closer. Matter of fact, had they had actual judges judging it, he might’ve won.

It’s simple – DeMar is the more popular player on a much more popular team(Raptors Nation is HUGE), thus more votes.

Looking at this game reminded me of Blake Griffin,and i just started thinking of what type of dirty stuff he’d be doing in the game. Eric Gordon does need to break out of his shell, but a lot of these other guys in the Sophmore squad were complete ball hogs. You can tell Eric Gordon wasn’t trying to be all flashy just trying to go about business.
