A few things from the 110-92 loss to Atlanta:
- Turnovers. The Clippers turn the ball over 22 times, which leads to many uncontested dunks and 34 total points off turnover for Atlanta. This isn’t a case of the the Clippers trying to engage Atlanta in an up and down affair – this is just blatant sloppiness. The Hawks did just fine controlling the ball on their own end, only forking it over 8 times all game. To contrast, Bobby Brown and Craig Smith had 10 turnovers combined. The Clippers shoot over 50.7% from the field, but squander far too many possessions.
- Al Horford goes for 31 points, with every single one of his buckets coming from the painted area. In fact, the Hawks didn’t hit a single three-pointer tonight, but still managed to put up 110 points with an incredible 70 points in the paint. Does this happen if Marcus Camby is back there patrolling the rim? Probably not.
