3 in a row. Not bad.
suns up next!
wow. that almost 4pt play and then meltdown at the line was a big swing.
I see that Rin Tin Tin had a great shooting night for him…..4-10.
We are starting to trust our shooters more and allow our bench to show what they can do. We had a huge size advantage that we neglected until the 4th quarter, luckily the pistons let us stay around. Gooden looks great, I liked Camby a lot but can’t argue with this type of production. We could’ve given up after the 1st half but hung in there and got the win. Their free throws were 45% and ours were 91%, glad to us improving at the line.
The clippers are significantly improved with the addition of Gooden,Blake, & Outlaw. Tonights victory demonstrated that.Maybe Dunleavy finally got something right. However, tonights game also demonstrated what has been clear all year ie. that Eric Gordon cannot guard the big guards a 2 guard must be able to guard(Hamilton killed him like Joe Johnson did last week) ,that he is a limited & erratic offensive player that can sometimes score a lot when he is able to hit his threes but has difficulty getting his shot off, & may not qualify for Mensa after fouling Hamilton with about 8 seconds left & almost giving him a chance for a 4 point shot to tie the game. I believe that both Outlaw & Blake are going to have to play more if the clippers hope to continue their winning ways. Outlaw is a first rate player who just needs time to show his talent having come back from an injury & Blake was terrific again tonight. I believe he turned the game around. Gooden was outstanding. He’s the kind of tough veteran player the Clippers have rarely had. Jordan also had a terrific game-I believe his best-. Maybe he’s finally getting it.Rasuel has been playing extremely well for a while. The team is certainly looking more solid. Is it possible things are looking up?
Looks like they’re an improved team. If they defeat Phoenix on Friday, we better belive in this season. OKC might falter.Portland is tough and hard to crack.
But we should keep winning games.
So everybody on the team is looking better except for Gordon. He’s only a kid that has tons of talent, so just give him time and keep Baron off the floor. He plays better with Blake on the floor. Also, how did those foul shots workout for Hamilton.
I gotta admit. It’ll certainly be interesting this summer to see what the Clippers decide to do with all of their free agents this summer. Do they re-sign most of them or do they let them all go at the chance to sign that one true star? Watching the new guys in Blake, Outlaw, and Gooden these past few games develop some chemistry with the current team we already have has certainly been fun to watch. Maybe GM Dunleavy does have a plan, eh?
Nice win. Can we get to 33? Didn’t Kevin predict 32 with Blake playing?
On a side note, Gordon got schooled by Hamilton all night. Big. Time.
8-21 shooting is hardly schooling a player. EJ had that bone head foul. other than that, he was decent
Yes Dunleavy has a plan…… it involves NOT keeping any of these players. The reason he was able to get these players were because of their contracts.Next season it,s ALL in for lbj…..
Ugly win, but a win. And any win is better than that tripe they threw at us the last 5 games of Dunleavy and the first 5 of Hughes. I still want to throw my remote at my plasma every time I hear the NBA’s worst all-time FT shooter (that’s Kim Hughes) talk about how he doesn’t care if guys miss shots. That’s insane, especially with Baron, the king of the Bad Shot. There were multiple times I would have been yanked from a HS game for Baron’s shot selection, and I shot about 10% better than Baron is shooting this year, from the line, 3 and the field. And I sucked. But not as much as Baron Davis with no shot selection.
With Blake, coach needs to keep Baron on a tight leash. The bench is always an option.
I like the addition of Blake. He’s what this team needs. He’s consistently decent, and this team needs someone who is consistently decent. It would be nice if we used him to his full potential, which would be a great break when Baron’s head is too far up somewhere.
So, here’s a preliminary idea.
