It’s the question on everyone’s mind. Where will LeBron James end up this offseason?
There’s certainly a lot of moving parts and quite a bit still to play out, but the smart people at ESPNLosAngeles.com have put together a free agency preview filled with plenty of information and some opinions on how this Summer will play out.
In the piece, K.A. weighs in on the Clippers chances of landing LeBron James this summer:
The Clippers’ sales pitch to James will come with all sorts of enticements — a solid supporting cast, the perks of playing in Los Angeles and the possibility of naming his own coach.
Those sweeteners aside, popular perception of the team’s history and ownership would likely trump those assets in any discussion of LeBron as a Clipper.
Asked to give a percentage, K.A. says there’s a five percent chance of the Clippers landing LeBron this Summer.
To that, I only have one response:

You can fire all the coaches in the world, we are still owned by sterling. Sterling is one big negative

ATTENTION NBA:
Please send Clippers & D.Sterling to NBDL with a condition. Develop within 2 years or perish. End this ‘Clippers’ ordeal ASAP.
Yes, LA deserves 2 NBA teams. Why not bring SUPERSONICS to LA?
Los Angeles Supersonics. Sounds perfect.
Clipper fans would embrace them in a heart beat.

Just move the team to Las Vegas, rename the team with a dominant name (The Nightmare) and start from scratch. Franchise player (LBJ), new coach (Byron Scott) build a new arena (AEG Arena by Bally’s Casino), and start a new fan base that could reach internationally from the entertainment capital of the world. With the name The Las Vegas Nightmare, you could go either way with it , good or bad!!!

Yeah, Las Vegas is doing so well. I’m sure they’d be thrilled to spend a half billion of money they don’t have on an arena. Read news, ever?

Love the video reference. I agree, we still have a chance, but very slim.

It’s stupid that people think that there is any chance that he is going to Lakers. Lebron will not be star B and even he would the Lakers don’t have the cap space to sign him and he isn’t going to sign for the minimum. On the other hand I would say there is probably a 15% chance Lebron comes here. Not a great chance but still a much higher chance then the Lakers. I think it is much more realistic that we will end up either absorbing a contract (Prince or Iggy) or signing a star that isn’t in the top 5 like Bosh.

Funny and cruel at the same time. LBJ’s not going to get anywhere close to the Clips.

Not even a 5% chance LeBron becomes a Clippers owner, which is the only way he’d ever come, if Sterling gave him a piece of the pie.
