The newly renovated Clippers.com released their top ten plays of the season today. Did they miss any big time plays? Did they get number one right? Watch below, and then let’s hear it in the comments section:
Top Ten Plays of the Year

#1 was definitely not only a great play by Baron but a great win for us. We lost a tough game at Portland a few nights later but then ran off 4 wins in a row and felt like the season finally turned a corner. Of course, that was followed by 4 losses but let’s not dwell on the negative…
But #5 should be #1 for an Clips fan as it’s the glimpse of the future and hopefully better days ahead.

The one that gets you going is the play where Blake makes the big block and then finishes at the other end. That could be the future boys and girls. Baron’s plays would be better if they didn’t come once every 10 or 12 games.

can’t wait till next season! professor griff’ is gonna mash!

uhhh… if they are going to show Blake Griffin in a preseason game… shouldnt they show the big dunk on Mbenga?
It’s pretty pathetic but I think that was my favorite highlight of the season.

Other than a few “cute” plays, that is a pretty pathetic top 10…
How about
10. Water Main Breaks
9. Baron Davis actually tries
8. Kim Hughes tells the truth
7. Chris Kaman plays 10 minutes in the All Star Game
6. Eric Gordon regresses
5. Rasual Butler is the comsumate sellfish player
4. Al Thornton is overrated
3. Clippers sell tickets for cheaper than season ticket holders pay
2. Griffin is out for the year (naturally)
1. Dunleavy gets fired…. TWICE!

Love it! Don’t forget Dunleavy is not getting paid anymore.

I won’t say Dunleavy is better than Mike Brown, but he’s not any worse.

My favorite was #6. Was at that game, and MAN…

Damn, all this post season drama and then watching those clips makes me yearn for the next season to hurry up and get here. I’m starving for Clipper News!

Hahaha, you see what I did there? I made a pun and I just now realized it after the fact.

Since they added the nice preseason play by Blake, They should have added the dunk he had on DJ Mbenga. It should have been #2 with Baron’s buzzer beater at #1.

after watching the cavs lose last night, i believe it was espn that was showing interview clips of lebron. one in particular stood out to me. he said that he doesn’t care about the money, its all about winning.
oh yeah? if he really feels that way he needs to prove it by not signing a max deal so that whichever team he lands on can have cap room to add much needed depth so that the TEAM can win. I’m so sick of these players saying that they just want to win, and then turn around and demand these max contracts knowing damn well that by signing such high priced deals they’re essentially crippling the team overall by not having money to bring in other quality players.
If these guys are really all about getting a ring, then take a pay cut for the better of the team! And if they still decide to eat up the majority of the team’s budget, then they need to stop b**ching about not winning. It’s simple logic, isn’t it?

I don’t think Lebron will sign a max deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes less than 10mil a year. It actually makes more financial sense if he takes less money.
6mil a year + 100mil in endorsements =106 mil
16mil a year + 100mil = 116mil
after championship
6mil a year + 150mil in endorsements = 156mil
vs
16mil a year + 100mil = 116mil

you honestly think lebron will play for just over the MLE? you es loco. he’s going to take a max deal, and if not max money, it will be not far from it.
every team is going to be waiting for lebron to make a decision before any other signings. so i bet lebron takes a max deal, then expects other free agents to take pay cuts in order to play with him. the guy is too fame hungry not to make sure he isn’t the highest paid player on a team, and to not make sure he guarantees himself all the dollars he can get.
sure your 150mil after championship looks fine, but that’s stipulated on him winning a championship. if he were to sign for 6mil and still lose, he lost himself that huge difference. he’s going to guarantee himself money first.

I’m not saying he’s going to do it. I was just making an argument to the possibility.
I think he has to team up with Wade to beat the Lakers.

They are both gone now, but back in December Marcus Camby grabbed a board and then fed the ball to Al Thornton for the dunk.

Personally i think Marcus Camby, PG/C, needs to be represented in the 10 best plays this season.

ESPN had some Laker blogger Dave M. making the case why Lebron should be a clipper, it was awful. He said, “EJ and BD are ball dominant guards, they would not pass the ball to LBJ”. It was a terrible segment, it was obvious he does not know the clippers. Why didn’t ESPN at least get KA, DJ or ClipperSteve to make the case.

I saw that too, if anything the clippers are up there with chicago as the teams with the best young talent to surround lebron with. Ramona shelbourne should have covered that, she does most clippers stuff for espnla even john freaking ireland knows more about the clips

I have seen that ESPN analysis are not even putting Clippers as a potential stop for Lebron. That is a slap in the face for the Clippers.

I had read somewhere about a week ago that the Neil Olshey was holding off on hiring a new coach because he didn’t want the new coach interfering with the drafting process which doesn’t make sense at all.
Posted on May 14th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Note to Olshey. Think outside the box. There is no reason to hire a recycled coach who has been dumped by some other team. There is no need for the new coach to have asst. coach eperience; note that some teams are considering Mark Jackson. How much experience did Pat Riley have when the Lakers tabbed him ? What the Clippers need is someone with a high BB IQ (I like PGs for that reason). Here’s a new name to consider: DEREK FISHER. Now all you critics can jump in. But maybe such a hire would make more sense than some of the suggestions I’ve heard so far.

As long as they stay away from Mike Brown as head coach I can stay a clippers fan… If they sign him after the Cavs dump him, I will officially give up. What do people think of Woodson? I think he is a great team builder…

woodson sounds doable for me. every year the hawks’ records improved under his guidance, and the team had good chemistry. And that’s 2 things we really need and want. none of us reallistcally expect to be in the finals next year. What we want is to improve and become at least a playoff team. woodson proved he can build a solid team.

Woodson got screwed, and yes, we should interview him because he has proven that he can take troubled personalities and turn them into winners.

We ain’t gonna git LBJ, WADE,BOSH,DIRK,JOE,RUDY or…shit, that’s all there is! Can you say DBL? I just got my renewal package for Clip season tix and tossed it in the trash. There was a nice note from Blake that was probably written by some min. wage flunky who washes Sterlings cars for a little extra scratch. Face it, we are the ass end of the NBA.
Posted on May 14th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
If Blake had played this year all 10 plays would have been him. That guy gets a minimum of two big highlights a game when he plays.

My favorite was number 9….missing, just like the Clippers’ season!
