PLEASE don’t take Gordon Hayward! Take Aminu…or George. I just hope that Olshey doesn’t over-think this. No to Hayward, no to a broken-down Luol Deng. Does he have any idea how fired up the entire Clipper Nation would be, if we head into the 2010-11 season with Griffin and Aminu? Maybe add in a Rudy Gay? Just no more Yaroslav (Gordon Hayward) Korolevs.
Deng might be out of the picture now that they moved Hinrich.
The Clippers haven’t done anything stupid so far. I’m starting to have hope that things have really changed.
It is more than a little scary that the Clippers don’t have anybody high up in the organization who has significance experience in basketball. There’s no head coach. The general manager has no basketball experience except as a high school coach. The President doesn’t know anything about basketball. The owner doesn’t either.
So how does anybody think this is going to work out well?
The best thing the Clippers can do is to follow the suggestion of Mark Heisler and Lisa Dillman in the paper today and draft Al-Farouq Aminu of Wake Forest. The Times basketball writers likely know more about basketball than any of the current Clipper brass.
The general manager did make a good comment in the paper today:
“Olshey spoke about this year’s draft from compared with the 2009 class.
“What you realize is how important the point-guard position is in our league,” he said. “There were 10 point guards taken in the first round last year, all of whom had excellent years in whatever roles they were given.”
That comment certainly does underscore why it’s so important the Clippers dump Davis.
All of those ten point guards are preferable to Davis.
In real life, like in fantasy basketball, you dont draft white guys in the first round.
Hmmmm…who would Donald T. Sterling prefer to be the “face” of the franchise? Just go look at Clippers.com. They aren’t promoting the best PLAYER available. They are promoting Babbitt and Hayward (who, I’m sure are fine players, but this has Celtics and Jazz written all over it). It is 2010, not 1860, Mr. Sterling. PLEASE show the NBA world that things will be different in Clipperland.
I’m getting super nervous we are baout to do something stooopid
The Clippers should have traded this pick Aminu is wack. He looks like a poormans Stacey Augmon. And Augmon wasn’t anything special.
We’re going to miss Al Thorton.
I agree, Thorton was a good player. If only he would have embraced his role off of the bench. He would still be on the team.
As far as HEYWARD goes, I trust Jerry Sloan’s opinion 1,000 times more than anyone the Clippers have got.
We just got eric bledsoe for a future 1st round pick. Awesome backup for Baron Davis!!!!!!!!!!
We should hire Pritchett for our new GM.
Im more excited for Eric bledsoe then aminu I kno more ppl feel the same cuz if it wall wasn’t there we’d be talkin bout bledsoe bein the man at Kentucky
