Dissecting the Side-Screen Roll Since 2006

Eric Gordon Team USA Highlights

Posted by D.J. Foster on September 9, 2010 at 11:56 am

There are some things you can watch over and over again and never get sick of. Eric Gordon’s jumper is one of  those things. It’s absolutely picture perfect. Look at his feet squared up, his balanced base. Check out how his shoulders are always perfectly aligned with the rim. Watch the elbow line up perfectly, his fingers spread across the ball, with the perfect jump forward, wrist snap, and follow thru. It’s a coach’s dream from start to finish. I could shag down rebounds for Eric Gordon all day long and never be happier.

Gordon went 2-for-5 from the arc in today’s win over Russia, and showed off some nice defensive plays with a big block and a clean swipe of a steal. But make no mistake, it’s that jumper that has everyone raving.

Check out the beauty of it all for yourself. Here are some highlights of Gordon, who entered today’s game with a ridiculous effective field goal percentage of 74.4 percent, firing ‘em up in international play:

Thanks guys..my favorite highlight from the mix is at the 1:51 mark. EJ grabs the rebound and drives the ball full-court for a layup plus the foul!

My fav is @ 3:06. He is defending the guy bringing up the ball then picks his pocket. The guy fouls out of frustration.
