Lisa Dillman gives an update regarding the status of Clipper Bigs:
Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro has made it clear he wouldn’t be comfortable heading into the long-and-winding regular-season campaign with just two centers.
Collins or Voskuhl could be the third. Then again, the Clippers do have the flexibility to make another move, but that’s getting well ahead of things. Especially since the first exhibition game is still days away.
With Kaman’s injury history, this is completely necessary. Not exactly thrilling but by bringing in Jarron Collins or Jake Voskuhl now, they’ll be familiar with the system. That type of player will be available at all times of the year, either in Free Agency or in the D-League, so if they need some transactional flexibility either of these two players would be easy to waive. From the talk, it sounds like the Clippers will open with 15 men on the roster (assuming they keep Blakely up).
