Bienvenidos desde Mexico. The Clippers play the San Antonio Spurs tonight at 6:30 PM PT and since I had so much fun working the Daily Dime Live for ESPN last Friday, I thought we’d start up our own Cover It Live/Daily Dime Live-ish event here on the ClipperBlog.
This should give you all plenty of space and options to talk about the game. I’m going to try and work this out as seamlessly as possible, but this is my first time hosting a CIL event, so I apologize in advance for any hiccups. I’m going to try and make it less formal than the Daily Dime Live chats so that there can be dialogue between everyone. Same guidelines as normal: no foul language and no name-calling.
It should be a great game in a unique arena and it’s going to be showing on NBA TV, so I’ll be watching. Some of the other writers on the blog may join up, I’m even trying to talk good ole D.J. Foster and maybe eventually Madelyn Burke to make cameo appearances. We’ll see how that goes. It rests on my powers of persuasion, so, if I were you, I wouldn’t count on it.

So it says. NBA TV apparently.

It states “This Event No Longer Exists” is there a specific time it will start up at?
Thanks

It will start on NBA TV at 6:30PM as Breene said, now people is a good time to get a real feeling from our boys. Let see what we can say tomorrow. Now the team is getting their own image, I believer that VND is not trying out more players, so that’s it boys and girls.

Looks like Blake (The G.FORCE ) Griffin is going to show his skill to all the nba fans around the world and prove he should be R.O.Y… GO CLIPPER NATION!!!!

For anyone clicking on the link (the one from earlier in the day), there were some issues. That’s settled now (I think). I’ll be around at 6:30 for the game.

Yup can’t wait this should be very exciting to say the least. I just hope we don’t blown out. I know it’s just preseason but no one likes a game, especially since we’ve been waiting this long to see a live clips game, to be uncompetitive. Wonder if Baron will be playing… Heard he might get a few mins. Man that guy is really starting to annoy me. When I heard he was initially not in top shape I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Now knowing HR finally had a full practice just yesterday ticks me off.

He’ll probably miss the game cus he went out last night in Mexico and ate one of those hot dogs with bacon around it on the way home.

Is Madelyn as cute in person as she is on-line? Sweet……

I like “G Force”. That’s funny.
How about Griffin = Big G and Gordon = Little G?
On the Dodgers in the 60′s, Don Drysdale was Big D and Don Sutton was Little D. Both hall of famers…….

Blake is looking strong. He’s got a ca-zillion of rebounds!
WTF is gomes doing? 0-5 last i heard.
best news of the night, BD is looking unselfish so far!

did the clips just loose a 15pt lead and now loose by 2? Ay no, no es bueno!
Posted on October 12th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
Baron is 100% from the field! But he only took 2 shots! I dont know which of these makes me happiest. The 7 assists I love too!
Mr. All-Star leading the team with 6 turnovers.
Blake is just terrorizing the glass.
Where’s the Rhino? Needs more Rhino.

Gorden is so mentally out of it at the line. Too bad, would have been a nice win

We lost an 18pt lead! oh me oh my! we’ll get them old spurs in the reg season.
Gomes missed that last free throw, that guy sucked!
Yea, what happened to El Rhino?
Posted on October 12th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
I can’t believe some guy named Neal just won the game for them and we had most of our starters out there. Give back Foye, Gomes, and Cook they suck balls. We need better backups they gave up an 18 point lead, Del Negro lets foye just chuck all game wtf man this was a huge let down.

Seriosly ! The clips coulnt come out with a better play after a timeout? It happened a several times in this game where they coudn’t find a man open for ball inbound.
G-force! all the way!!
Can anybody post a madelyn vid? that might make me happy after the loss.

VDN can’t come up with clutch plays. That is what pissed off fans in Chicago. I didn’t see the game, but wins and losses don’t matter in preseason.

Sad, scary fact: Manu Ginobli drew up the last play for the Spurs according to Hoopshype. Pop gave him the clipboard and the pencil and told him to draw it up.

how does CK dribble the catch and shoot?
that had to be the ball slipped right?
Posted on October 12th, 2010 at 9:33 pm
Anything better than ck 17ft jumper! EJ, Blake, even BD! Or Even DJ for a lob. It is what it is.. Just a good pre season game.

Good:
- griffin (rebounding and a few nice passes, flawless in transition)
- gordon (assertive and confident, looks like our go to scorer)
- kaman (decisive and played in control)
- BD (unselfish and played with intensity, looked
like a leader out there tonight)
- butler (nice stroke from the outside but still wasn’t thrilled with his shot election) I’m bot sure if he’s capable of passing
Bad
- Gomes (unfortunately couldn’t knock down open looks but I like his defense and doesn’t take the bad shots that butler will take, but he has to make those open shots)
- Foye (not confident in his ability as a backup, basketball IQ seems very supect)
- Bledsoe and Aminu (non factors)

Um, Bad – Brian Cook. The many looked like he was 40 out there.
At least everyone was watching the Chilean miners rescue instead of an embarrassing pre-season loss! And who said the Clippers aren’t lucky?
I thought Blake looked good against tough competition. I’m convinced Pops played Blair and Duncan extra minutes to check out the match up.

I thought Cook looked ok for a backup actually.

-6 Turnovers is called playing in control? Some players glaring weaknesses get glossed over on this team while others get exacerbated. 6 turnovers for a center is not acceptable, for a young rookie point guard, expected, for a 7th year pro, totally unacceptable.
-Foye has done well as a backup, hes just not hitting anything when he shoots.
-Gomes…i have no explanation for that. Where’s the beef?
-BD needs more of the same every game. Thats exactly what we need from him.
-Where the heck was Rhino?

Rhino has a minor injury and was held out of this game.
