There should be a lot of chatter and controversy with Carmelo Anthony in the building tonight. When will he be traded? Will the Clippers get him (I say probably not)? Do the Clippers even want him? Etc.

Will you come to any conclusions when you watch him tonight as the Nuggets come to town in the Prime Ticket televised pre-season home opener? Maybe, maybe not. But if last game is in any way indicative, it’ll be fun to watch.

I was very excited the way our clips played against the spurs. Not exactly where we want to be, but I see some improvements and that’s always a plus! This should be a interesting matchup tonight.

  Clippers are going to be the worst team in the nab this season!! they can’t even beat denver with basically nobody!! they are the shit of shits of the nba….they waste money picking up nba rejects and they are not even worthy to be a nba team, they should all just play in the d-league, i loose hope on the team already and blake griffin is just another top draft bust like michael olowakandi and baron davis well,i can now say that he’s the shittest overpay player in the league, i would rather give my $$ to sign anthony carter over baron davis any day!! i wish the clippers will go bankkrupt so we can see a new team in the nba from another state cos the clippers are just fucking shit LA team….bring back seattle supersonics and scrap LA Clippers from the nba cos they are just not getting it done in the city of angels!! they are fucked!!!

Excited to see Baron play with the starters. Hopefully he’ll play a few more mins. Let’s put up that W today Clipper nation.

First home game with Milph. Should be entertaining. I’ll be in the bay area this weekend so I have no idea how I’ll be able to follow any of those games especially since they won’t be televised or even streamed on radio. Weak…

Dump Davis

For the people here who have been posting irrelevant stats the last couple of days trying to trick people into thinking Davis has been good for the Clippers, here is the most relevant stat there is and it clearly says Davis is terrible for them. I’ve posted it before but it is significant enough to post again. It’s from a recent column by Mark Heisler.

“In Davis’ Clippers debut in 2008-09, the team started terribly (15-43) and finished even worse (4-20).

They were 21-28 when Dunleavy resigned as coach last season. With management eager to see how they reacted to a new voice, they skipped the traditional honeymoon, going 8-25 for Kim Hughes.”

Note the 8-25 after the Clippers decided to do things the way Davis wanted, meaning run and gun with no defense. That run and gun philosophy is the philosophy of losing teams (Knicks, Warriors), and the Clippers the second half of last season showed why.

Also, Davis had the worst shooting percentage in the league last year of any guard. If you don’t think that’s relevant too, then you’re in a pipe dream. Enjoy yourself.

Say what you want. Baron is not a consistently good point. He is talented and has big moments, but lacks consistency both in play and leadership

It was all Rasul’s fault. No serious, thats our only weak link, the small forward position. We figure that out, Clippers will seriously be a threat. Good game though, Blake had a highlight reel and he didn’t even have a good game. Can’t wait to see him in the regular season. They should rest him for the final game. Kaman was great in the first half, but definitely was missed in the second. Again this is because the long range game didn’t exist tonight. What was most impressive was the consecutive Davis to Griffin connections in the 4th Quarter. I want the playoffs, but ill settle for a healthy season from the core 4 (Griffin, Kaman, Gordon & Davis). Anyway, great game to watch except for the 3rd quarter. Refs really screwed that quarter up with touch fouls and illegal 3s.

  I agree, Rest the guys. I wanna see the young kids. Sool and Cook were chucking up shots like they were fighting for contracts. However, I do like Gomes. He is not filling up the stat sheet, but it’s the little things he does like spacing and quick cuts that help open up the floor on the offense.

    I like Gomes too, but Coach doesn’t seem to give him much time. And that will probably bug me all season like the underuse of Steve Novak last season.

  Yeah but i have to say baron played really well tonite and if he didnt have those fouls and was in better shape we would have gotten the W and butler was horrible tonight i say tonite was to show we can compete but lets gets some wins and let bledsoe and aminu play. And please dont let blake play the final game the dude jumps and when he comes down it looks like hes gonna get injured. But great play griffin he got us the ball 4 times with those offensive charges

G-Force is awesome! he had his worse game but was the one that brought the clips back from a 16pt deficit. highlight reel indeed! Dunks! flying! very fun to watch. (scary too. at one point i got up and said ‘NO! he slowly got up then i was relived)

i was wrong! i think kaman should keep shooting them 12ft jumpers. As long as we got griffin down rebounding i dont mind them shots.

Baron did what he had to do. Man im glad he’s coming with a new attitude this season. Them blocks were nice. he even dunked!

something like 7-22 from 3pt line. (not too sure ) but we were bad. really really bad. can’t win games without responding them 3s!.

Vinny from the Black needs to sharpen that ‘D’ i saw many holes. Also put the youngsters to play! wtf! i know we’ll loose but they’ll get better for real games coming up!. Also He should hire Manu or Dunleavy (haha) to create some plays for the last shot. Gordon from 30ft 3pt is not a good play. neither Kaman shooting the in the last second vs spurs. and last..Rest Griffin, kaman, and put the youngters for the last pre season!

I heard lawler say ‘They need to learn to win games not just compete’ We sure got them tools to do it, so why not.

Why is no one concerned that VDN is playing our starters 30+ minutes like it’s the regular season and not letting Bledsoe and AFA play? Our starters got their butts kicked by a Nuggets team missing their starting PG, PF, and half the bench.

  Our starters? For the most part it was Foye at point because of BDs foul trouble.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to have Brian cook and Rasual Butler in the line up @ the same time… those guys kept jacking 3′s up… And Rasual will sometimes hit that little dribble/step back jumper but not all the time.. and I doubt that’s his game… He needs to take shots when they’re in rhythm possibly after a B diddy feed but it seemed as if he just felt like he needed to get his shot off so it really ruined the ball rotation… same goes for cook.. that guy’s never heard the term “pass the ball”…. E Bledsoe needs to get more minutes under his belt and he needs to get a better feel. Sometimes he gets caught up too much on his own speed and on making a play that will lead to something entertaining rather than making wiser decisions… But i’m assuming that he’ll get that through more experience. I’m loving the hustle the guys are bringing but it seems like the clippers keep trying and playing hard and yet they still come up shor. Another thing that worries me is that both the Spurs and the Nuggets weren’t using as many starters as the clippers have and the clippers have still came up short. I hope they fix those blemishes up before the season otherwise we might have to worry

Also i don’t consider Butler the starter anyway, Gomes should be the starter!
