We’re Going Streaking! Clippers 113, Timberwolves 90

Posted by Breene Murphy On December - 21 - 2010

Come on! You can bring your green hat!

Eric Gordon scored 36 points, Blake “The Unicorn” Griffin and Ryan Gomes added 22 a piece, Baron Davis served out 12 assists and the rest of the Clippers rode out the momentum to beat the Timberwolves and win the Clippers third game in a row for the first time this season. Yes. At this point you can safely say that the Clippers have a win streak.

With all the pundits talking about the Miami win streak, the Celtics win streak, the (now snapped) New York Knicks win streak, it’s shocking that no one is talking about the winning streak (trend?) that is even more improbable than of all those: the Clippers two game road win streak. Especially when they beat the Bulls on the second night of the back to back.

Clippers 100, Bulls 99

With .8 seconds left in the game, Derrick Rose abided by Lawler’s Law, missed a free throw, failed to tie the score at 100 and the Clippers did something most thought was impossible: they won back to back games on back to back nights on the road.

Who’s excited? Finally, the Clippers kicked the winless-on-the-road monkey off their back last night after a thorough trouncing of the Detroit Pistons. It’s not exactly the most impressive team to beat, the Pistons have floundered for the last few years and this year own a 8-19 record this year. But as poorly as the Clippers have played, they’ll take the win.

Clippers 109, Pistons 88

The Clippers dominated in Detroit tonight, snapping a five game losing streak with a 109-88 shellacking of the Pistons. Blake Griffin was dominant again going for 42 points and 17 rebounds against a Pistons front line that never really had a chance. The Clippers had more rebounds than the Pistons, more assists, more steals, more threes, more points in the paint, and more points on the fast break. Basically – and for the first time all season – they just flat whupped a team, particularly in the second half, where the Clippers outscored the Pistons 58-42.
