Clippers, Sterling lose arbitration with Mike Dunleavy

Posted by Breene Murphy On June - 11 - 2011

Donald Sterling’s plan to skip paying ex-GM and coach Mike Dunleavy has apparently backfired. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com, the arbitrators of the case awarded Dunleavy $13,517,000 to be paid right away.

While the Clipper Organization disagreed with the ruling (of course), and plan to search out their various options going forward, Dunleavy’s lawyer Mike Clements doesn’t believe there will be any further legal proceedings.

Kaman for Iguodala is a no-brainer for Clips

Posted by Jovan Buha On June - 9 - 2011

As if an entertaining Finals series, Shaquille O’Neal’s grandiose retirement, and the looming lockout weren’t enough, the NBA can now add enticing trade rumors to its list of factors drawing in quite possibly it’s largest global audience ever. Yesterday, a trade rumor surfaced that was centered on the Clippers’ Chris Kaman and the Philadelphia 76ers’ Andre Iguodala.

Currently, the Clippers’ weakest position is small forward by a landslide. Ryan Gomes, Al-Farouq Aminu and Jamario Moon just don’t cut it the way Blake Griffin (PF), Eric Gordon (SG), Mo Williams (PG), Chris Kaman and DeAndre Jordan (C) do. Acquiring an elite small forward like Iguodala would balance out the roster, filling in the enormous gap left at the three-spot.

Maybe not the biggest noise today, but there was a well done interview about the Rhino and his L.A. roots, courtesy of Andy Kamenetzky of ESPN.com.

As part of a continuing series, NBA players share the various ways growing up in L.A. shaped their game.

Clipper Draft Prospects v. 1.0

Posted by Jovan Buha On June - 7 - 2011

Despite presumably missing out on the first pick in the upcoming 2011 NBA Draft, the Clippers will have to pick themselves and move on with the 37th and 47th picks. Trying to project the second round of the draft has become nearly impossible, as it is too difficult to predict which players will fall from first round allure (DeJuan Blair, DeAndre Jordan, etc.), which players will become surprisingly productive (Gilbert Arenas, Carlos Boozer, Manu Ginobili etc.) and which players will disappoint. Therefore, take these projections with a grain of salt.
