ClipperBlog Live 12-28-11 Following Clippers @ Spurs

I haven’t seen Dump Davis posting about this game yet. He must be waiting for another game to compile a big list of things DeAndre did wrong. Maybe he’ll come out with a youtube video.

Clippers do need a center that can do more than block shots. Maybe even one that can shoot free throws. It’s gonna be hack a shaq in the playoffs for sure.

The one thing that was listed as a problem which isn’t a fluke was rebounding, but the rebounding is an issue because of the lack of defense from the guard position. Teams are doing to us what we did to them last year; our guards can’t get through screens or defend against penetration and that is forcing Griffin and Jordan to help which leaves their man free to rebound or score off of an extra pass. This is why it was lob city for us last year and why teams are killing us inside this year. The one problem that I think isn’t a fluke is the missed shots; everyone wants to fill the spot up jumpshooter roll while we have nobody committed to driving to the basket or cutting through the lane. The offense should run through Paul (pick and roll) and Blake (iso and rotate the ball) but for some reason it isn’t.
