Please, have patience with these Clippers

The Clippers are the flavor of the month. They have one of best starting line-ups in basketball, arguably the best point guard and power forward in the NBA, and appear to be serious contenders out West. There’s a unique buzz about the team, with famous rappers even making songs about the “Lob City Clips.”

Need More Bandwidth!

Clipperblog was down for a few hours today. For some reason, we’ve had a major uptick in vistors lately.  We’ve since increased our ability for additional bandwidth. (we’ve never had so much traffic in such little time.)

It’s a good problem.

Thanks for your patience.

We resisted the urge to overreact to the positive signs from the two preseason wins against the Lakers, and now we must do the same after some potentially ominous trends surfaced in Game 1 last night.  As D.J. wrote, it means that the Clippers are now that good, where they can play such a flawed game and still come away with a 19-point win on the road, albeit against an inferior team.

Clippers 105, Warriors 86: Losing My Religion

The team you root for doesn’t serve solely as an  indicator of your  geographic location. Fanhood can be a reflection of your personality, your ideals, your loyalty. Being a Clippers fan, for a lot of people, means something. It means you go against the grain, you root for the underdog. It means on some level you’re self-deprecating and maybe even a little bit masochistic.

Now? I don’t know what being a Clippers fan means anymore. We’re all losing our identity, because the Clippers are no longer the Clippers.
