Blake goes 8 mins in first against Lakers. Against Grizzles Th first 15 mins. Tired him out noticeably for rest of game. Still playeed OK but Obviously VERY tired. WHAT KIND OF ROTATION DOES vinnie use. I do not like it.

Ryan Gomes is terrible. Marqus Blakely with his athleticism can give the Clippers so much more. Plus he would love to be a Clipper…

Really, really enjoy Blakely’s game. He’s a great athlete and I think he could develop into a really nice wing defender.
Offensively though, I just don’t know if you can hack it with him in a unit when you already have Gomes, Solo Jones and Reggie Evans providing no scoring whatsoever. Love Blakely, but don’t love the fit.

Before we fire Vinny lets remember. If CP3 doesn’t pull his hammy, we win those games vs Minnesota and Lakers in my humble opinion. Its nice to have our closer back. So what if our record was 12-4 instead of 10-6? Is Vinny closer to getting fired or coach of the year, just askin’? When this team is healthy, and in tune with each other which should occur in the next 9 or 10 games, we will have a team that is virtually unbeatable. Until then, lets try not to fire the coach, or trade away the players. If Chauncey isn’t productive, then get Mo some more minutes. We need production from both players, not one or the other.

FYI there’s not ‘When this team is healthy’ here at Clipperland! lol especially with this schedule.
I think Chauncey sat for a long period of time so VDN did it right this time to leave Mo in.

The one adjustment I applaud VDN for doing last night, was having Mo in finishing the game…
Not ready to write off the acquisition and all just yet, but Billups has been horrid so far. PERIOD. How many more lines of 4-15 / 6-18 / 2-10 was it going to take to yank some of his minutes. And how many of those misses were on forced shots? He’s been the worst offender of the forced shot on this team so far. Had Mo been in late in the 4th against the Lakers, might have been a different outcome.

That’s the beauty of it! This team can beat any NBA team at any given night. do u guys remember last year? we beat the good teams but lost vs everyone else even the mo’-cavs! lol.
I wish we could find a way to win on the road. That’s going to be a challenge this coming up month. if we dont we’re back to .500.

On TBS Reggie Millers’ call of the game was extremely annoying. From his comments “These LA People are out of their minds” while chanting M-V-P for Blake, to his color commentary, when Marc Gasol made a level 10 in degree of difficulty spinning running hook shot, all you could hear was Reggie laughing in the background, what is that? From the moment the Clippers blew their 1st quarter lead, until Chris Paul closed it, the announcers gave Lionel Holland so much credit for this and that, and tried to out-think what might be Hollands next grand scheme or manuver to undermind the Clippers so we would lose. Well? We didn’t, and in the end, hardly any credit was given to VDN, and for all the great plays Memphis made, they never ever did anything but overcome a large deficit, only to never take more than a 1 or 2 point lead here and there. The Clippers remained in control of the game, something the announcers weren’t anticipating would happen. Kudos to Vinny and the Clips for grinding out the win. Reggie Miller needs to remember where he’s from, and stop with the old school way of viewing our team. These ain’t yo mammas Clippers Reggie. “These L-A People,” you’re an LA person yourself son, even though you never won anything as a Bruin, or Pacer.Stop hating on the Clippers.

You are correct. Ralph Lawler is one of the best announcers in all of sports. I have all the sports packages for basketball/baseball/football etc on DTV, and get to hear all the other broadcast crews, and many don’t compare. Sadly, Ralph will never get his due because the clippers have been an afterthought, and he happens to call games in a city with the likes of Vin, Chick and Bob Miller, who were all are / once great voices who have called games for “relevant” franchises.
Ralph is a GOD.

Reggie was hating and we all knew the annoucers were gonna give crap to the clippers. Clippers still don’t get respect. We need to shut up these laker fans and get d12 or win the west finals this year

I heard The game on the radio. Ralph and Mike on the radio are classic. At one point, the big C Hadadd came in to the game, and Ralph asked Mike, “where is he from”, Mike said “I don’t know Ralph, where is he from”, Ralph said” I ain’t touching that one!” Lol…Clippers lead the Lakers in attendence! Did anyone see Foye just about knock Selby out almost killed that man. Or Mo Will tackle somebody from behind on a
break away lay-up attempt? Call it what you want, but that’s true grit! “Not in our house!” I like that approach, I’d like to see more of it, thank you! Coming up short to
the Grizzlies was not an option, we needed that win. I’m not advocating techical fouls, but that’s our home court, and you gotta do, what you gotta do to get the ‘W’!
Was it pretty no, but so what!

I disagree. I think those were legit attempts to just grab the guy and get the foul gone wrong. Mo was trying to wrap the guys arms to stop the layup, but was too slow. Randy was trying to stop the ball and wrap the guy, but again too slow.

He was bleeding from the nose for crying out loud. You need to do your jobs refs. This is getting out of hand. I don’t blame blake for campagining a foul everytime he goes in the whole becuz he gets smacked around to much

Anyone know why ESPN is saying the Clippers are going after KMart? I guess we could use his scoring on the bench, but we need a 2/3, not another 3/4 who can’t shoot 3s.

With all the money DEN has been giving out, I think Wilson Chandler is now a realistic target despite being RFA. I’m not even sure they have a roster spot available for him this year. They already have a full 15 regular season roster, and looking at the roster they actually play 13 deep (which is the playoff roster limit).
Maybe that’s the best get? Trade a 2nd round and cash to DEN (who probably don’t want players back at this point) and slot him into one of our trade exemptions for this year. We’ll have his Bird Rights this offseason to bring him back longterm.
JaySee Reply:

I like it, but better idea: no pick, Foye and Cook’s expiring contracts.
AH Reply:
January 27th, 2012 at 5:30 pm
That would be amazing but DEN doesn’t have the roster slots to take back players.
I suppose an alternative would be that if DEN does bring Wilson Chandler back then the Clips could just pick up whoever DEN has to cut. I think anyone on their bench is better than our bench.
JaySee Reply:
January 27th, 2012 at 9:17 pm
Why would they even take them? Just trade and release.
AH Reply:
January 27th, 2012 at 9:25 pm
Hrm… then DEN would have to pay out Foye/Cook’s guaranteed contract…
I see how you can do it. Trade Foye, Cook and $3mil for Chandler. The $3mil covers the buyout/waive cost of Foye/Cook. But then DEN would get nothing for Chandler leaving. I still think you’d have to put a 2nd round pick so DEN can save face. Maybe one of those ridiculously protected ones that revert back if not applicable.
In any event, I think we’re both on board for getting Chandler over here and somehow dumping our bench players.

VDN further proves he has no idea how to make a lineup? KMart as a 5?!?!
Posted on January 27th, 2012 at 1:56 pm
From hoopshype on Martin and the five teams who may be after him. . .
“The Clippers and the Knicks can offer the $2.5 million mini-midlevel exception. San Antonio can as well, but it is unlikely to do so because of the luxury tax, sources said. Atlanta is also limited by luxury tax concerns. Miami can only offer the veteran’s minimum of $1.4 million. ESPN.com”
Don’t like the idea. He’s over the hill (only a year younger than Billups) and he causes a lot of trouble wherever he goes.
I agree with Bill Plaschke in the LA Times today about how it’s a bad idea for the Clippers to keep going with this new tough guy persona their trying for. It lost the game for them with the Lakers because of the fouls. Martin would only make it worse.
griffin Reply:
January 27th, 2012 at 9:25 pm
Martin would go with us and we need tough guys so blake doesn’t get hurt. Knicks is overrated and horrible. They will fire there coach.
Posted on January 27th, 2012 at 2:23 pm
I was relieved the Clippers beat Memphis. I know Memphis didn’t have Zach and Zach is tough on the Clippers, but it was the second of a back to back for the Clippers and anytime they can win one of those it’s good.
Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are so good that they alone can take the Clippers to the playoffs. Caron Butler and Mo Williams continue playing much better than expectations. Bledsoe should be good when he gets back.
After those five guys, there’s just not much there. And you can’t blame the coach for that.
Posted on January 27th, 2012 at 2:30 pm
Clippers chilling out like Bill Plaschke is recommending? I don’t think so!! Until they
stop going back during crunch time and checking instant replay for every questionable call going the Clippers way, but tend to not double-check the other way, until Blake stops taking a beating every night, because he does, until announcers like Reggie Miller, or show hosts like Jimmy Kimmel learn to respect what we have going on, then no, don’t lose the chip, celebrate the dunks, go after
every game like its your last. The Clippers traditionally have kicked, and clawed, and scraped and scratched for everything we’ve every earned. Just cause we got a few stars on the squad doesn’t change that. I remember Elton Brand, and Kaman with Cassell and them, kickin’ and scraping and clutchin’ and clawing for each and every win too. That’s Clippers basketball. Chill out? That’s like the Steelers turning into a passing team, what is this? OC got fired and lets get back to 4 yards and cloud of dust! The only difference today is, the Clippers have the talent to back up their style of play. They beat up the Lakers all night, and had the closer not blown the save we would have won that game too, And Did It Our Way. Tell the Bad-boy Pistons to chill out so they can laugh in your face. We got the biggest dog in the fight, Blake Griffin! Now, get out of the way, you gotta let the big dog eat! Every one has an idea of what the Clippers should be, now that they’re good. Lets fire the coach, lets bench
this player, lets stop Lob City, lets let these Clippers, be Clippers, and play Clipper ball, but flip the script, and win it all in the end. Make no apologys! Just do it our way! If its ugly? So what! Like the late Al Davis said,” Just win baby!”

Plaschke cares about the Cliippers as we care about the Heats. He needs to write something controversial. KMart is a good acquisition, big body, experience. If DeAndre is in foul trouble there is nobody in the bench to replace him.

Maybe DeMote wants to bring Kaman back here, is not with the team tonite, the coach Williams wants to give the young guys more playing time. In another words he could be released pretty soon.
Posted on January 27th, 2012 at 4:45 pm
It would be good to trade DeAndre for Kaman. That way the Clippers would be out from under DeAndre’s disastrous four year contract. New Orleans was one of the teams said to be interested in Jordan before Golden State signed him. Maybe the Clippers could get the Minnesota pick back in the deal.
My guess is Kaman goes to Dallas and plays along side Dirk, maybe for Odom who New Orleans wanted in that Laker deal. Or to Miami.
I doubt Kaman wants to return to the Clippers, but it would solve a big Clippers’ problems.

Kaman has been truly, truly horrendous this year. Even worse than when he was with the Clips. It’s pretty evident when a team as bad as NOH gives Kaman the opportunity to start and he plays so poorly they’d rather give his minutes to develop youngsters.
DeAndre’s contract has a little more value than that. He may not be able to be the centerpiece for a D12 deal but he has more value than just a straight salary dump. And again, DeAndre cannot be traded until Dec 2012.
I’m actually a little surprised how bad Kaman and Aminu have been in NOH so far. I was not a Kaman fan but it’s been pretty atrocious. And Aminu? His head is just not in the game. I agree that Kaman would most likely want to go to Dallas and play with his buddy Dirk. And Dallas can use all the help they can get.

So the former “best center in the West” got sent home and put on the trade block with a press release announced in the middle of a game?
“Kaman was excused from New Orleans’ home game against the Orlando Magic on Friday night, and Demps, who was traveling, said in a written statement during the game that the team and Kaman “mutually decided for a number of reasons that we are not going to play Chris” while trade talks get under way.”
DeMote must be DePressed.

Demps is smart he doesn’t want a healthy kaman getting injured while they are trying to trade him. Knowing kaman he might get injured while on the trade block if he is playing. That’s just how injury prone he is. I would take kaman back only if they take gomes, cook and foye(only to macth salaries) to make our front court deep again but not to start

Just a heads up — DeAndre can’t be traded this season since he signed an offer sheet as an RFA. Any deal involving him would have to wait until next year.
Posted on January 27th, 2012 at 5:30 pm
I like Solomon Jones hustle and moxy, but he looks more like a power forward then true center. Reggie Evans is a beast, but, also overmatched against centers. I would say maybe Bledsoe (which I hate to say because he’s such a great prospect) becomes trade bait for a quality bench big? With CP3, Chauncy, Foye and Mo I don’t see any room for Bledsoe.

With so many great pgs around bledsoe he will be the perfect pg in the future. He can’t be traded the dude will be a beast. He has the speed of derrick rose and with cp3 as his mentor his court vision will be amazing. His shot will be amazing as well with mo and mr big shot around he can’t be that all around player. Bledsoe is the secret future franchise player. Kobe might not be the kobe he is today if he didn’t have so many good players around him to help mold him into what he is. How many pgs have the benefits that bledsoe have to learn from the best at his position. None. He proably isn’t tradeable

Stop with the Kaman crap, that whole era is over for the Clippers. DeAndre and Blake are the longest tenured Original Clippers. Everyone else came via trade or free agency. Look, I do not cast a blind eye on what Kaman brought to the table. He could score inside and, nice mid range, he could score and block shots with either hand. He could rebound as well, a decent free throw percentage. Kaman got most of his blocks in one on one situations though, but that’s not really controlling the paint, because it was layup city for the opposing teams, as Kaman never left his man to help, and when he did, he was always a step short, always late, and just in time for the hoop and some harm. Kaman was always hurt, and he had a real low basketball IQ. Never ready for the no look pass. Slow to recognize that he was getting set up for the lob pass, but quick to take the ball out and run it back, after he got dunked on. And his turnovers were contagious. First he dribbles the ball of his foot outbounds, then the whole team is dribbling the ball off their foot, out of bounds, turnover. Kaman, if you judge his entire body of work, pro and cons, you have to reach the same conclusion as the GM here, and in New Orleans. CHRIS KAMAN as a player IS GARBAGE!!!! We traded him away, DO NOT BRING HIM BACK FOR ANY PRICE, NEVER!!!!
