this is the buggiest blog i have ever tried to enjoy. more than half the time the podcasts dont work. i know there are like 10 contributors writing stuff, you would at least think one of you guys could get it straight
C. Maggette reminds me of the worst times being a clip fan.
Why are we talking about the C. Maggette?
Clipper fans, I promised I would reserve judgement of KMart until after I saw him in a clipper uni, because quite honestly, I don’t care what happened in Jersey, Denver or China. What I see is a low post player with a high basketball IQ. When Blake passed the ball back out, while on the seat of his pants, if it had been Kaman, or Closs, or Olowakandi, or even DJ, I’m still wondering if the ball ends up safely back into CP3′s hands for the game winner over AI. KMart made an instinctive play there. The impromto double team on Lou Williams to close out Philly. Not sure how many Clipper bigs would have been capable of instinctively doubling down on that. I heard things like, the guy is washed up, and we don’t need him, Olshey missed the boat, but KMart is solid, great pick up.
I gotta agree with you, that play too get it back in pauls hand is a play that looks so easy but was a really heads up play….
That team is horrible nice blowout let’s finish out this road trip 5-1 and keep this train rolling
I grateful the Bobcats stink! That way it pretty much eliminates them from a CP3 homecoming in 2013.
btw Jordan did hit a 15-foot jumper.
I refuse to go back and watch it. I can’t handle that level of excitement.
I can’t help but feel that demote maybe right. Wait what? Not about dj. But about dwight howard. If orlando doesn’t trade howard and he walks in free agency I can’t help but feel that he has a good chance being a clipper
The Bobcat’s starting center last night was a small forward teenager. Good grief!
Bismark Biyombo is19 years old. He’s also 6’9″ (in reality, probably 6’8″) and he weighs in at about 220 lbs, which is very thin for anybody who’s 6’9″, especially one starting at center in the NBA. He’s basically a small forward who should be playing as a freshman in college, and even there he likely wouldn’t be starting since he can’t shoot at all.
This is the kind of center Jordan can play mediocre against. It’s the same as the centers on Toronto and Miami. . . all who are listed at 6’9″ and likely are even shorter.
Amir Johnson of Toronto is even thinner at 210 lbs. Joel Anthony of Miami weighs more (245 lbs.) but he’s very slow and can’t move or cover. All three of these guys are incapable of shooting and average in the low single didgets in points.
These are the centers Jordan plays least badly against.
How many 19 year old, 6’9. 220 lb centers do you think the Clippers will see in the playoffs in the West? None. The closest is Perkins but that’s only because he’s short but stocky and he can’t move or shoot. All of the other six teams that will get to the Western conference playoffs have legitimate sized centers who can score, and Jordan is going to be helpless against them. In a seven game series, they will plan in detail how to attack Jordan, and they will destroy him.
It will be painful to watch.
Demote, your comparisons miss the point. We don’t need points from Deandre. What ever we get from Gomes, Evans, and Jordan is gravy. CP3, Blake, Caron, Mo, Randy and Kenyon is where we get our offensive production. Its a team, and everyone has their role. Deandre’s job duties includes the following, winning the opening tip, rebounding, blocking shots, altering shots, running the floor, transition defense, improving his free throw percentage and grabbing Blake from behind whenever he throws down another ridiculous dunk. Doing this within the team concept, producing winning results, earns him 43 mil, nice gig! Stop your whinning, its soo tired.
see the name
it’s nice to see the podcast where daniel ewing was mentioned was promptly removed. also, every clipperblog live should start with a shoutout to corey maggette.
As long as I’m hosting we WILL be dragging skeletons out of the closet, kicking them, then moving on to the next skeleton.
