Best solution Re-sign Reggie Evans, Billups, and Nick Young each at around 1-3mil. for a year-two.Trade Mo Williams for any big man(just about)if we can’t re-sign both Billups and Nick Young play Bledsoe at the 2 with CP3.
Draft a SF in the 2nd round and if there’s anything available get a big man that can shoot
my list is exactly like that, except i would rather sign Kmart and i would like for the clippers to aggressively go after Igguodala
Fate has it for BLEDSOE. He always ends up playing alongside highly gifted PG’s.
In college, he had to start alongside JOHN WALL as shooting guard.
With Clippers(atleast for now) he’ll have to do the same.
Great way to learn and grow in such a competitive environment.
Nick Young (sign him at 2mil like the contract he had with the Wiz.)
Chancey Billups (re-sign for one year at 1 mil)
Reggie Evans(1 mil)
Kenyon Martin (release)
CP3(Should be the starting lineup)
Travis Leslie(with these guys were at 57million (including Ryan Gomes who we should Amnesty)
And the Guys we have to do something with that cost us 12million!!!
Mo Williams (at 8mil)
Ryan Gomes (at 4 mil)
We would be at exactly 69mil(which was same as last year). This is even with Mo Williams horrible contract. Which we need to do everything to trade for either a big man or a shooter(which is nearly impossible thanks Neil Olshey).
Draft a SF
^^^ Or just play Trey Thmpkins more
definitely agree with that. this guy would come in for 1 minute and he would always be knocking down 3’s. But i have heard he is trying to get a point across to Vinny and he is already back at the gym working with the trainers
I posted this yesterday somewhere else but lets get the Clippers fans to have a look. Proposed trade: We send Mo and DJ to Miami for Bosh and James Jones. They get a scoring point and a defender in the paint with size. We get our shooting big man and a bench guy who shoot 3’s??? Any takers…????
Bosh might not be a center, but he’s still a better defender/rebounder than DJ. Not gonna happen
Mo and Gomes to Philly for Iguodala.
they wouldn’t need a pg and we wouldn’t need iggy and caron, id say caron, gomes, 1st round pick if we have to
Anyone dismissing the idea of Bosh here isn’t thinking of how these players play on the floor. Bosh is a jump shooting 4/5. He would clear space for Blake to go down low. They could absolutely work together. Look for it on Team USA this summer. And honestly, it would be a better defensive (cough, smarter) addition as well.
Another potential free agent signing: Nenad Krstic. He’s a free agent (or at worse restricted). Had a good year in Europe and can be the back up jump shooting, low post threat 5.
He had a great end to the 2010-11 season with Boston before the lockout made him sign overseas. He’d be a quality backup who could score.
Of course, recruiting him will be difficult without an actual GM in place…
Bosh though hates banging down low and is an average iso post-defender at best. On offense, I agree that he is a better fit than DJ would be but then unless Blake suddenly becomes a monster shot blocker like Ibaka, we would lose size at the 5 spot because Bosh can’t hold his own against most opposing centers.
anything positive you can take from bosh’s game doesn’t even matter. no matter what it’s not worth that $110 million contract of his.
Philly doesn’t have a backup PG behind Holiday and Lou Williams is a SG in a PG’s body. Gomes is purely there to make salaries match. We have a need for Iguodala because Iguodala is younger, longer, and more athletic. He is also a very good defender and can handle the ball and pass. He can do everything Caron can’t: slash, drive, and get to the FT line. The Sixers want to push Evan Turner to start and Turner figures more into Philly’s future than Iguodala does. As long as Iguodala is there, Turner won’t get the minutes he needs to develop.
It should be noted that Lou Williams is going to opt out of his contract.
While it is true that the Sixers have a glut of guards (each of whom have flaws), they are not going to be willing to take Mo and Gomes for Iggy. The Lakers reportedly have interest in Iguodala (Pau would solve their bigman problem), a few lottery teams (Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors) are willing to trade their pick for him, and that package of Mo and Gomes just isn’t that good. Besides, the Sixers want a bigman.
I think with an above average to elite 3, Nick Young would make a fine starting 2. Do you think we have a shot at Iggy or Pierce (or anyone like them) with a Jordan + Bledsoe or Mo + Gomes + Bled package. Also, is there a player that we need more than Channing Frye? He fits perfectly. Plays solid D, shoots nearly 90% from the FT (!!!), long rang sniper, pick’n’pop ect… He can play next to Blake and next to DJ and the three would form a very solid, young, athletic frontcourt. His deal is very reasonable at about 5/year and would be a great long term fit. I think Mo gets him straigt up, do you guys?
Literally laughed out loud when I read your username. So good.
i dont get the username? care to explain
Would be nice to have Pierce, but not at this stage of his career. I would rather have Iguodala over Pierce: less mileage and younger.
never trade bledsoe, has a future just as promising as Griffin
Resign Young and Reggie for about 6 million combined sign odom for mid level exception sign greg oden to minimum I’m also ok with trading mo if the right deal is in place
My reasoning is this keeps clips under the luxury tax which is essential under the new CBA odom is only two years removed from sixth man of the year he wants to be in LA I’m not worried about him being a locker room cancer with Veterans like Paul and Butler to help keep him in check he is a big that can stretch the floor which the clippers need he could play behind both butler and griffin The clippers might as well take a flyer on oden after he got that Kobe knee procedure in Europe he was a first round pick for a reason he is a low risk big reward signing if he works out clips cant go crazy with the spending because they have to anticipate a big raise for Blake after next year
i meant oden was #1 overall pick and i would try to trade mo for kevin martin because Lowry wants out of Houston and they might be looking for a point guard if they get rid of Lowry. The clippers could have more cap space if they amnestied Gomes but i cant picture DTS signing off that because he doesnt pay people that dont work for him
It’s easy to say “sign Player X”, but do they want to sign here? Lamar Odom wants to sign with New York.
Whatever you do, DO NOT TRADE BLEDSOE.
i honestly believe that this guy has just as much talent and potential as griffin, if only they gave him more chances
That’s why future of this franchise looks bright. Griffin, CP3 & Beldsoe have that
undying drive & passion to win & succeed. No one expected Bledsoe to develop this fast & furious.
Now they need to add 2 more similar type of players who’re willing work hard to succeed. If we can get Wade or LeBron…..rest will be a great history in the making…
If Miami fails to win championship, there’s a chance they’ll trade one of their superstars. We have enough to personnel to make that trade. Mo, Caron & DeAndre.
Resign Nick Young and trade Mo Williams (if he opts in) for Trevor Ariza, and bring Caron Butler off the bench….
I was thinking something similar. I would try and trade Mo, Gomes and one of our second round picks to New Orleans for Ariza, and the 10 pick (which used to be ours). Then we draft a Center prospect (zeller, etc). In FA I would try and sign Camby for the Vet Min. This gives us
Jordan, Griffin, Camby, 10 Pick, Thompkins up Front.
Our small forward will have Ariza (Played with CP3) and Caron, although Ariza can play SG in a crunch. I would also look to possibly sign OJ Mayo as a backup combo guard who can play either the 1 or 2 off the bench. He is a good defender and an upgrade over Foye. Obviously Bledsoe gets a lot more run at the 1 and the two without Mo, Foye and Young around.
I like Ariza as a defender and athlete who can run up and down the floor, but he’s pretty much a black hole and can’t really shoot.
If this LAC team has by the end of next season…
1. Chris Paul
2. Eric Bledsoe
3. Andre Iguodala/ Sam Young
4. Blake Griffin
5. DeAndre Jordan
6. Caron Butler
7. Kevin Garnett/Ersan Ilyasova
8. Greg Oden
9. Nick Young
10. Trey Thompkins
11. Chauncey Billups
12. Reggie Evans
13. Travis Leslie
14. Second Round Draft Pick Y @ SG/SF
15. Kyrylo Fesenko
This is the team I expect to see. Re-sign Nick Young, Chauncey Billups, and Reggie Evans all to mini-mid-level deals worth 2 years and a player option for the third year for Young while team option for Chauncey and Reggie. Aggressively pursue trading Mo Williams (if he opts in) and Ryan Gomes to Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala. Aggressively pursue KG with a multi-year deal at the full MLE. If we don’t get KG, we should also try pursuing Ersan Ilyasova from the Bucks who is a UFA with a 3-year full MLE deal.
Maybe we could get Sam Young from the Sixers if we can’t get Iguodala and get Sam Young into the trade exception from Al Farouq-Aminu.
After that, throw a one to two year deal at 2-3 million at Greg Oden with the second year being a team option to see what Oden has left in the tank. This is a low-risk, high reward option. If he plays poorly, cut him loose.
Sign Kyrylo Fesenko from Indiana as the 3rd string center for the veteran’s minimum. He’s a UFA right now and I was calling for Olshey to pick him up over Bobby Simmons during the season because we needed size at the backup 5 spot.
With the KG pursuit, no more than 2 years at the full MLE.
You are crazy dude. No way Kevin Garnett/Ersan Ilyasova sign for the mid-level. Plus, Ilyasova wants to start. He ain’t coming off the bench. KG is either retiring or sticking with the Celtics. This is like a fanboy wishlist.
That’s why we have CP3 and Chauncey to recruit KG. At this point in his career, no team will offer him a multi-year deal worth more than the full MLE. Ilyasova is more of a longshot that I’m hoping for.
Celtics are looking to rebuild and won’t want to give KG more than one year.
Yeah and KG doesn’t want to play that much longer. He’s either with the Celtics or retiring (and I’m not a Celts fan). You’re dreaming.
Do you think CP3 and Chauncey would be able to convince KG to come play for the Clips?
Have you been watching the playoffs? KG is arguably the best player on the Celtics – quite possibly going to the NBA Finals – and you have him coming off the bench behind DeAndre Jordan? Ridiculous. Even more ridiculous than the idea that KG would sign with the Clippers. He’ll get a two year contract for $8-10 million somewhere.
Not sure about that. I don’t think too many teams will want to throw that much money at a 36 year old big.
Clippers must trade DeAndre. Even Griffin & CP3 know, that they cannot be taken seriously as contender if their starting center is named DeAndre Jordan.
Because they’re not going to wait for him to partially develop sometime during 2018-19 season.
Signing him was a huge mistake. Neil Olshey was ‘kamanized’ at that time. And Sterling went along with it.
Bynum took 7 years before he became the all-star that he is now and Kobe had to wait. CP3 wants to win, but this offseason is crucial as to what Blake and DeAndre do to grow their games.
Resign young. Resign Billups and Evans as long as no team overpays either of them.
Trade Williams, Gomes, and DJ for amare stoudemire
Hes not really a center but hes definitely better than deandre. New York probably wants to trade him after the whole punching his hand into a glass case thing during the playoffs and will get cap room in 2012-2013.
The Knicks won’t want to do that. If they lose Amare, they lose their post presence.
I think NYK would do that in a heartbeat, which should tell you something about Amar’e.
Stoudemire was a great player and is still solid, but LAC would be committed to 3 more years of a max contract for a PF (or undersized C if that’s how you want to look at him) that has had eye surgery and microfracture surgery. He also had to sit out parts of last season with back problems. Also, his contract is uninsurable.
On top of all that, Stoudemire is thought of as a disinterested defender. And defense is a huge area of concern for the Clippers.
Good point, well taken. The Clippers would be dumb to trade for Amare though. If the Clippers somehow do get Amare, would he amnestied so the Clips have cap space (amnestying him would be bad at this point given how long his contract is just like with Travis Outlaw’s contract from the Nets)?
Amar’e could not be amnestied by LAC (NYK cannot amnesty him either). Realistically, there are only 2 players LAC can amnesty: Mo Williams and Ryan Gomes.
How come Amare can’t be amnestied? I know the Knicks couldn’t do that because they used it on Chauncey, but the Clips haven’t used their amnesty yet.
A player has to have a pre-existing contract AND be on the same team as before the lockout to be eligible for amnesty.
For example, if a player was traded after the lockout, then that player does not qualify for amnesty. If a player signs a new contract with his own team, that player is no longer eligible to be amnestied.
NO NO NO NO!!!! Amare is NOT the answer to the Clippers questions!!!! (not problems) How do you post up both him and BG?? ATM I wouldn’t trade for D12 either, same reason. KG is target 1 but I can’t see him leaving the Celts without some very big blessing from Doc and Co. DJ will get better. He HAS been better. Confidence is shot but with some good coaching (Hello David Robinson!!!!) I think he will be a very good player. Let’s focus on the 2+3 spot. Caron brings cred and will probably be amnestied after next year…but at least he brings the potential to what WE can achieve! Re-sign NickY…sign and trade Mo (love him but he’s not the right fit). I like Iggy. Pick up a young guy who can play like J Harden and we’re set!!!
We can’t amnesty caron butler as he was signed after the lockout. Id like to think with coaching players will get better but unfortunately we have a coach who is questionable in ability to teach these young players.
Amare and Deandre are both 6’11 so it wouldn’t really be an undersized center unless you consider deandre undersized.
Although Amare’s contract is big he will score lots of points. And its not like Vinny is skilled in defensive schemes so whether we had a good defensive player or not he wouldn’t be able to use him well. But Vinny is known for being a motivator so maybe he can motivate amare to play his best. But really chris paul will be able to utilize amare completly. As we saw in the playoffs deandres lack of post moves made it much harder for blake to score as front courts would completely focus on him. With amare wed have another threat in the front court who can shoot and stretch the floor.
You saw what happened to Amare this year and the playoffs right? He’s fallen completely off the face of the earth. His numbers were horrible and he doesn’t look like he has the athleticism to get his shots up at the rim anymore nor does he really get to the freethrow line much anymore.
Everyone on this board overvalues Mo Williams. He is an overrated chucker with a bad contract – he’s why the Cavs got last years #1 pick and teams are not going to take him except as an expiring contract for next year. Nobody even wanted him in my fantasy basketball league and his value in real life is significantly overstated just because he had a few games where he shot lights out.
Why do you think most people want him traded? I’ve included him in many different trade scenarios.
But people are throwing out trades like Mo and Gomes to Philly for Iguodala? What GM in their right mind would take that trade for Iggy, as limited as he is offensively?
Iguodala is not that great of a shooter, but he’s not a bad shooter either. His career field goal percentage is 46.1%. He’s also a good defender with the athleticism and strength to hold his own against opposing 3’s and does something Caron doesn’t do anymore: slash and get to the freethrow line. Plus he’s a good passer averaging 5.5 apg this past season.
Philly is in need of a backup PG behind Jrue Holiday. Lou Williams is their other PG but he is a SG in a PG’s body and having Mo there also help with their playmaking off the bench as well as provide another shooter. Gomes would be a throw-in to the trade to match salaries. Both Mo and Gomes are expiring deals so it would help Philly save money on the salary cap. That’s the reason I propose that trade and why Philly would see it as enticing. Trading away Iguodala would give minutes to Turner who played well during the playoffs and needs more minutes to develop.
For me its mostly because his defense is attrocious
I think the clips should take a look at Jeff Green from Boston if he is healthy. I know he had heart surgery last year, but I think that he is a decent 3/4 guy who defends and shoots well.
i was actually thinking about Jeff Green earlier this afternoon. He should be a FA right? He would be a nice piece who can contribute in several positions.
Pick up deshawn Stevenson, he can play great on ball defense and scoring is not a problem for this team we need to start stoping teams. He made 2.5 mill this past year an was silent so he is going to get at most that much maybe even less. Second sign back Chauncey so that means we have Paul Bledsoe Chauncey and Stevenson. Bledsoe can play the one and two and so can Chauncey and you have Stevenson. Then we can trade mo and Gomes as expiring contracts for the best 3 or shot blocking 5. And we play trey more and boom we have our four guards Caron griffin deandre trey an whoever we can get for mo and Gomes. That is 8 plus fillers.
Plus Blake is going to be able to shoot the 18 footer by the time season comes around and that give us more offense and Bledsoe is going to keep improving on the offensive end and Trey can score and with Chauncey driving again Caron will score like he did at the beginning so we have plenty of offense just need more defense.
Stevenson wouldn’t be a bad pickup. You already know how I feel about Courtney Lee who is a Restricted FA.
Also I would love Iggy but I don’t think we have enough to get him.
If we have no takers on Gomes we should amnesty him. It saves us 4 mil on the cap and no one else on the roster is really eligible to use it on except Blake and Mo but I think we should try and get something in return for Mo.
Ok, so I’m thinking outside the box. I heard Charlotte wants to move that #2 pick. Anyone honestly think CP is going to resign with the Clips? I say sign Blake for 5 and 95 million, trade CP to Charlotte for Bismarck Bionmbo, DJ Augustine, and the #2 pick. Resign Billups, Young, and Evans:
Starters: Billups, Young, Harrison Barnes, Griffin, and Deandre
Bench: Bledsoe, Leslie, Butler, Thompkins and Biombo
reserves: Evans and the 2nd round pick
trade bait: Augustine, Williams and Gomes.
I personally would hate to see CP leave, but we gave up way too much for him, to see him leave, unless we can really get something good for him. If not Harrison Barnes, than whoever else is highly rated as a Small Forward.
I love the idea of getting AI from Philly, but would have a hard time believing the 6ers would add another PG (Mo Will) to their guard heavy line up. Evan Turner still has that deer caught in the headlines look, and after all this time, the game doesn’t look as though its slowed down at all for him, he just looks uncomfortable. The 76ers probably aren’t ready to hand over that SF position to him is my guess.
Disclaimer: I only claim to be a huge Clipper fan, but I don’t profess to have all the answers as a wanna be GM.
As soon as you said trade chris paul because he won’t sign I stopped reading. But I guess it was outside the box.
I’d try to move up into the draft, especially targeting picks #10 (New Orleans) and #16 (Houston) to take Austin Rivers at #10 and Perry Jones at #16. At #53 I would take Tu Holloway.
If it meant trading Caron, DJ, Mo Williams and Bledsoe to make those deals happen, I think I could live with it.
Buyout that Gomes contract. Get that $4M free. We can also not opt into Leslie or Thompkins if we are desperate for another $1.5M Trade Mo or find some way to get his contract off-book.
That’s about $12M in cap space.
Affordable FA’s I’d be looking at:
Trades to call about (with Kenyon Martin, Nick Young, Randy Foye, Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins along with assorted low draft picks as sign and trade bait):
Players to pick up if amnestied:
Elton Brand (pretty high liklihood)
Carlos Boozer (50/50 chance)
Rashard Lewis (80%+ chance)
Joe Johnson (They gotta be thinking about it in some small corner of their mind. 20%)
Pau Gasol (If LA finds no trading partner. 10%)
Paul Pierce (If Ainge goes Thermonuclear for cap to bring in Deron Williams and Dwight Howard. 10%)
Disclaimer: I know its unlikely to get real talent by signing and trading Martin, Young, Foye, etc. However, what you can do is sign a large value 1-year or 2 year deal with TO in order to give the other team a serviceable veteran/journeyman that can be used as an expiring deal that next offseason when Dwight (and maybe cp3/blake)!?! is up for new contracts. So you can sign Kenyon to a 1 or 2 year deal at $10M a season using his rights for a player another team has either already paid (Rudy Gay) or has to pay (Tyreke Evans, OJ Mayo, Beasley) but needs to move so they at least get something of value in both the short and long term in a lateral move.
Theres also Mo and Caron as trade bait as well.
Caron’s contract right now isn’t as valuable for trade baite. Plus, Caron at this point in his career is pretty much useless to other teams. I don’t know how Fernandez will be after back surgery and I’m not sure how Chandler will be after his surgery. If Terrence Williams can shoot and do as well as he did towards the end of the year, I am all for getting him and definitely picking him up for cheap. I’m not sure how Jeff Green will be given that he’s been out of action for a year with his heart surgery. I know Sacramento may look to trade Tyreke, but I’m not sure what value the Clips have enough to trade for Tyreke unless it’s Bledsoe.
Buying out a contract doesn’t give you salary cap relief… The contract stays on the books. Otherwise, teams would be buying out discontent players all the time and signing others.
Also, how are you even giving percentages to our chances of acquiring certain players? lol…
The Bulls are not going to amnesty Carlos Boozer because there are not any good power forwards that they can sign. The Bulls are stuck with Boozer’s bad contract. No use amnestying just for the sake of clearing cap space when there is nobody to sign.
Rashard Lewis probably isn’t going to be bought out… Who can the Wizards sign or trade for right now? They have no significant trade chips and Rashard’s contract is gone before the luxury tax increases in 2013… They are probably going to amnesty Blatche, whose contract runs through 2014 and is supposedly a bad influence on the team.
Depending on how you structure the buyout, yes it does lead to immediate cap relief. Sam Cassell was bought out by us, then signed by Boston at minimum a few seasons ago.
The percentages were for chances those players actually get amnestied.
The Bulls have definitely been thinking of using amnesty on Boozer. Although they are weighing when to actually use it. It probably wont happen this season with Rose out unless they are really desperate for the cap space.
Rashard will either be bought out or amnestied. This has been talked about for a year already. Blatche is low enough that he might get bought out, however theyve also mentioned buying Rashard out and amnesty on Blatche.
There are plenty of people to sign, believe it or not. Some of the players that played in China and came back only signed 1 year deals and some key championship veterans are also on the market. You can build an all-star team with just the veterans who are available.
Pau’s a trading chip for Deron Williams, so is Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard (remember the Lakers are always going for a Team U.S.A.-caliber team), so the chances of either of them being put on the amnesty market is a pretty big fat 0%. In the unlikely event that Pau Gasol were amnestied, how do you think he could help the Clippers?
Resign: Young, Billups and Evans.
I think O.J. Mayo would be a nice fit to the team, a guy with decent size who can play some D and make an occasional 3 pt shot. I also like signing Greg Oden too, but it might be too much to ask for a non-injured Oden. It sucks cause there’s alot of guy I would like the Clippers to go after like Hawes and KG, but money would be an issue. There’s no point in speculating, it’s fun, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s exciting, hopefully we make the right signings!
You obviously don’t know OJ Mayo… lol
He’s undersized (6’4″ in shoes) with average length (6’6″) and unimpressive quickness. He’s a great shooter who is most effective coming off screens but is slumping hard right now. He needs touches to score and he’s best off not relegated to spot-up duty, which is what he will designated if he joins this team…(Assuming we keep Bledsoe & Williams).
MAKE A HARD PUSH FOR RAY ALLEN! A 3year deal (partially guaranteed) for the midlevel should be more than enough to snag him. He’s still the best shooter in the league and his conditioning will allow him to play at a high level. This gives us the starting 2 we need and allows Bledsoe to play heavy minutes as a combo guard. Hopefully will use the amnesty clause on Gomes (Brian Cook 2.0??) and resign Swaggy P to serve as another spark off the bench. It would also be awesome to get Paul Pierce but I don’t think there’s anything we can offer the Celtics to make it worth their while– Nobody wants Caron or Deandre and Bledsoe shouldnt even be mentioned in trade rumors.
I keep seeing people saying amnesty Gomes but I personally think Gomes expiring contract in the year that a certain center becomes a free agent is a pretty good trade chip. I think ray Allen is the Celtic we can most likely get.
Why amnesty something you can easily buy out? If you’re going to use the amnesty, go big like Mo. Either way, you’re still paying and Gomes will sit on the wire while Mo might not.
Mo’s contract is expiring next season.
Right, but a team will pick Mo up and your cost is less what they decide to bid for him. So in the end you wont be paying 100% of the rest of the contract.
With Gomes you’re probably paying the full amount in amnesty. Better to negotiate a buyout with his agent at a lower rate and release him to give him time to get on with a new squad.
This is also hypothetically in the event you cant move them through trade before the draft and absolutely have to get cap space for a FA.
Why would you use your mid-level on Ray Allen? He’s going to stay in the corner for this team (unless VDN runs him off screens) and he’s probably going to want to go an actual contender (the Clips aren’t a contender this year) for their mid-level. Ray Ray is 37 years old, doesn’t matter how well he’s playing right now and he will not sign for the veteran’s minimum. Think about how many good teams want him.
Besides, we should be using our mid-level on a better front court or resigning our free agents…
Resign Young and Billups
Trade Mo Williams and Gomes expiring to New Orleans for Ariza and the 10th pick or Ariza and Jason Smith.
Free Agents I would attempt to sign
for 3-4 yrs 2-5 mill type deals
I like that you don’t want to overpay FAs. Also, Ian Mahinmi. He’d be a great pickup.
jordan hill played really well at the end of last season, and he could fill up a loss in reggie/kmart. but these are all options that would help our team depth
Dude, the guys name is literally pronounced “Yawn”.
I like a little more sizzle with my steak!
Also, just a hunch but I think the Clips will promote someone in house or hire Kikki Vandeweghe to replace Olshey as GM
Too many moving parts in many of these ideas. The Clips ain’t reinventing the wheel this summer. Nobody has mentioned Boris Diaw as a possible add. He can stretch the floor from the 4/5, may be affordable, and on the outs in S.A, as apparently S.A. wants KG, who he’d prefer to play for, i’d assume over the Clips, if the money was equal…
Love Diaw. Will definitely bring him up in our free agent show tomorrow.
Trade Mo and dump Gomes if possible. I would trade Mo for a mid to late first round pick..Chicago, Miami, Boston, or Golden State. Even an early second round pick would be a bonus. This draft is very deep. We could pick up a couple nice players in this draft even at #53. Thompkins should get more minutes. He can be our stretch 4. But we have to see how he and Leslie look during the summer. Martin and Foye should not be resigned. Young should be resigned. I’m on the fence with Billups since he won’t be ready to play until late in the season..but than again he should be ready for the playoffs. As far as free agents Brandon Rush and Mahimi would be good pick ups.
1.) Get Griffin a max extentsion
2.) Trade Mo
3.) Amnesty Gomes (only if Mo is traded)
4.) Pry Danny Green, Courtney Lee, or Brandon Rush away for half of MLE.
5.) Resign Reggie for 2 yr vet min.
6.) Resign Nick Young for other half of MLE.
7.) Sign Steve Novak little more than vet min.
8.) Bring back Marcus camby for vet min. to mentor DJ
9.) Put Trey Thompkins in rotation.
pg – cp3
sg – brandon, danny, or c. lee
sf – caron
pf – blake
c – dj
pg – e bled
sg – nick young
sf – steve novak
pf – reggie/trey
c – marcus camby (if absolutely necessary)
we do need 2 trade caron hopefully there is some team out there that wants him we need a starting young quick taller 3 – sign nick young back as a backup 3 – we desparately need a shooting guard big strong young smart and quick great defender try getting that in the draft get younger instead of older please do not resign older players make room 4 young players that r smart with physical gifts it goes a long way we need shooters that r atheletic and consistent jump shot take risk clippers organization u can do this
