It’s always surprising to see what professional athletes eat. And by surprising, I mean alarming. It shouldn’t be, though, considering NBA players can require as much as 10,000 calories a day to keep their bodies running at peak efficiency (the average caloric intake is about 2,000). And we’re not even getting into the players’ love affair with the Cheesecake Factory.
So color me nonplussed when DeAndre Jordan recently tweeted this:
so i hate
@ebled24…but loosening the top on the pepper was a good prank. ima get him back though haaaa lockerz.com/s/232563414— DeAndre Jordan (@deandrejordan) August 8, 2012
Along with a picture of Eric Bledsoe:

What?? Forget about the prank for a second. Is that orange chicken next to shrimp and pasta next to a salad smothered in cheese and dressing? And what is Bledsoe eating?? Fried rice, orange chicken and spaghetti?? And are they splitting beef nachos?? Given NBA players’ schedules (they sleep/wake later) and the timestamp of the tweet (12:02p), I’m fairly confident this is their first meal of the day.
Clearly, DJ and Bledsoe have no respect for the boundaries of ethnic cuisine. But they do have a great time together, further validating the notion that the Clippers will have one of the best locker rooms. And they’ll eat like trash compactors, apparently.
