Update: Stumbled upon one more picture of the Clippers’ alternate jerseys. You’ll see there are colorways for white, black and red in addition to the previously mentioned blue. I’m assuming these all fall under the “Winter Court” series that will be worn on weekends in the second half of the season. I guess we’ll find out soon enough how many wardrobe changes the Clippers will have this season.
Thanks to the industrious sleuthing of The Knicks Wall and Robert Silverman of Knickerblogger, we can all get a glimpse of the upcoming alternate uniforms for the Clippers’ upcoming season:
The new, alternate “Winter Court” uniforms will be rolled out for weekend home games in the second half of the season. For the Clippers, the colorway brings back the blue jerseys that were Los Angeles’ alternate uniforms before they were redesign for the 2010-11 season. Teams are not allowed to introduce alternate uniforms for two years after a redesign (throwbacks are obviously a different story as the Clippers wore the ABA Stars jerseys quite frequently last season).
And one last neat bit of eyecandy — a resourceful fellow (samevans7 via the ProSportsDaily forum) Photoshopped alternate blue uniforms some time ago and, based on the leaked info above, it proved to be quite prescient. I did a little touch up to bring it a little more in line with the mockup:
