Aiming for a 3:50p PT start. 4p PT start.
Twitter is really struggling today, so leave all your questions/comments below!
1) The Clippers lacked energy today. They said they were ready and fired up to play GSW today. Did they leave their game plan in LA and forget to guard the perimeter or does GSW just have LAC’s number?
2) Mike Smith said it on the broadcast when DJ had a post-up on David Lee in the third quarter to try to get another foul on Lee that he did not blame DJ for getting antsy when he ended up turning the ball over on a travel because he had not touched the ball much in the game. If you were VDN would you try to get DJ more involved in the game or more minutes to up his consistency?
Yes, DeAndre can get people in foul trouble, but they don’t use him. VDN won’t change his game plan from the start of the season.
Now Facebook is not working. In fact, none of the social apps are working. Temp account created.
Anyway, the Warriors officially have the Clippers number. Clipper media staff said that this is a really bad matchup because they’re unable to defend the 3-point line. The Clippers need a Warrior killer, somebody who knows how to defeat the Warriors, like how Michael Beasley does when he faces the Clippers. They have one roster spot available. Who should they go after? Also, which team from the western conference is better suited to defeat the Warriors? The Lakers would have been the perfect traffic cop, but they’re having identity problems right now. Could the Spurs, Grizzlies or Thunder be able to defeat the Warriors for the Clippers?
Just something I was thinking at the end of the game was why didn’t Grant Hill play today? Seemed like a team Hill could help against, were we resting him or something.
I agree. I understand that he is 40 and comes back so we need to rest him a bit but he is an outstanding D guy and nobody could stop the outside shooting. It would have been nice to see him on the court.
3 of 4 games were on the 2nd night on b2bs but still lets try to dodge a series against gsw. Would be to much for my poor little heart.
Shouldnt VDN save paul from himself and bench him instead of letting him go out there again if his knee is that bad?
please no ‘paul out for the rest of the season’ news tomorrow.
Where are we at in terms of lamar. At the beginning of the season VDN called him the “Key” to their success this year. Do we see him getting any better than a couple great outlet passes and high rebounding nights? If not, is there a solution to the big man problems?

Yo Andrew, what’s your favorite Omakase in LA?
thoughts on Deandre as the season has continued? Any expectations?
Why was Crawford defending either Curry or Thompson all the time, Bledsoe is obviously the best perimeter D guy on this team and was guarding Jack, I dont get it… Also, when Chris Paul plays on one leg, he is smaller than anybody else and one step behind, not ideal to play him in ISO with the game on the line.
Bledsoe couldnt guard both at once. At the end, they had CP on Jack and Bled and Jamal on the other two but they run off screens so well they always got separation and you know they only need a glimmer of separation to get a shot up. they also run at the same time and cross so that they get a switch. I think thats how Jamal ended up on Curry.
Well why not putting CP on a shooter and Jamal on Jack ? Moreover, Curry was the clear hot hand and couldnt find separation when Bled was on him, why not stick with Bled on the hot shooter ?
The way CP was limp jogging while bringing the ball up the court was a sure sign he would not have been able to keep up with Curry or Thompson around those screens, which is why they had Bled and Jamal on them. Maybe they should have had Barnes and Bled in there at that time but Barnes cannot get his own shot like Jamal and with CP not able to create a shot for Barnes that would leave no offense on the floor. CP should have been taken out of the game honestly. Vinny said he calms things down but if he’s a liability, take your chances on Bled, Jamal, and Banres. Now they have no choice vs OKC.
Well in that case, Vinny is to blame big time, you can’t try to hide two perimeter D guys against the Warriors.
Thought on Deandre as the season has progressed? Any Expectations for DJ?
should the clips have rested CP longer? He looked pretty hobbled out there today
Absolutely! It was evident in the Wizards game he was limping. And then for him to play 30+ minutes his first game back after not even running on the knee for a week? It was a bad call. They got a whole second half of bball to play. What’s more important? A 50% CP in game 42 or a close to 100% in game 82. Bad call on both CP and Vinny for not acknowledging the obvious
Jovan is wrong. DJ numbers per 36 minutes (think about Noah’s minutes) are actually really decent. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordade01.html
Trey Thompkins is that guy! But if not, Brian Butch is a big body with good shooting range: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Brian-Butch-170/
Troy Murphy. Trey Thompkins may still be hurt.
I didn’t see the game, but I saw DeAndre 0-0 zero points, 21 minutes and Odom played the whole 4th quarter again. Now the Clippers lost the game in the 4th, so DeAndre had no part of the loss. Nor did it look like the got any touches or many touches so you can’t fault the 0 points. Why is DeAndre still on the team if they’re not going to use him? VDN is killing him. Trade him.
I agree. DJ deserves more minutes and touches to work on his game and showcase his improvements. The improvements are there but without consistency in minutes and touches, it is hard to see it. I think it is a chicken/egg thing. He is losing his confidence because VDN isn’t trusting him and it is the same vice versa that because VDN isn’t trusting him, DJ is losing his confidence. I might be pushing for a trade DJ movement which would make DeMote happy but then at the same time help his growth because if he gets traded, he’ll come back and destroy us.
And Odom is playing long stretches at the end. Put DJ in at the start of the 4th and let him play for 5 minutes. Lamar will get more rest.
It’s not that Odom needs the rest. Odom basically is not a threat to score right now. He is looking to pass when he has the ball and will get rebounds. As far as for anything that is not a pick and roll, Odom will get burned. He shows hard to cut off pick and rolls but other teams are adept enough at creating more action so he is not intimidating. DJ intimidates as a weak side shot blocker.
@Andrew Han, David Lee tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios to DJ? Nice. Haha.
Andrew and Jovan, the guy you were thinking about was Troy Murphy.
Andrew, meet Urasawa
I’ve heard Urasawa is tops for kaiseki dining but not worth it for omakase. Disagree?

Yes the reg season record is 3-1, but I honestly don’t think the Warriors have the Clippers’ number. Not that I want to discredit the Warrios, but they only won by 5 today. If CP3 wasn’t limping, he could have done more to close the game. This game was still winnable on the road and a hobbled CP3. I still wouldn’t want to see Golden State in the playoffs though.
main concerns with clippers is cp3 knee injury. dj not playing smart, not being physical, not being agressive, not using his height and ahleticism on players that r smaller and less athletic – dj as advantage on kendrick perkins he should not allow him 2 push him around in today’s game against okc and take it pesonal block shots get rebounds go strong be a beast contribute something do not hang ur head u do have advantages use it 2 help ur team stop feeling sorry 4 urself ur team as a chance and they r depending on u 2 step it up be courageous do the little things that will make a difference hustle i want 2 see u sweat, have bruises play like u luv basketball and want 2 stay on the clippers – i really think ryan hollins should get more minutes if dj continues 2 lose confidence he can hit free throws, block shots and is athletic
It’s all about consistency. DJ is still better than Hollins but he needs more minutes. I just don’t think VDN is using DJ correctly.
