How did you guys feel Dudley and Reddick looked tonight? Nice that we can counter the 3 point shooting that Golden State has.
so can anyone please tell Paul that he has to play with that mindset every fucking game?
CP3 is the least of the problem, he may play with that mindset everygame but he won’t play like that everytime, everybody got to step up
1) What do you guys think is the reason Blake has not asserted himself in the 4th quarter the past two games and is deferring to CP3?
2) Do you guys think DJ has been the most consistent Clipper so far these last two games?
Because CP3 is the better player and better equipped to close games….
But nonetheless, just like he said himself, Blake got to step up, this “let-CP3-work” may work now but it won’t work in the Playoffs, Blake GOT TO STEP UP.
Does it irritate you listening to the TNT “analysts”? I think if I got paid to write/talk about basketball, that it would make me insane.
Clippers showed some game, they outrebounded the team that outrebounded the team that outrebounded the Clippers.
Things that I still want to see:
1)Blake showing game and shutting up TNT commentators. What was that hesitation back again in OPEN shots?
2)Bullock playing so he can sub Dudley on 3-and-D sometimes, maybe he can pest some guards on D and then hit some 3s.
Help D was really working, the so talked “trust” was there, even Blake got back to his man instead of switching every single pick. Hopefully Clippers understand that they need to maintain this high-energy level, playing D that generates easy buckets.
What about people panicking last game? I said it here, maybe that loss was a good thing if that worked as a wake up call, that I’d prefered that loss against the bad Lakers and a W against the Warriors that the other way around. And that really worked like that, Clippers entered this game with a tottaly different posture, they came with a chip on their shoulders – CP3 was doing those spinning moves on the 1Q, thing that he usually saves for 4Q.
Blake, CP3, Redick and DJ almost played the 2nd hald with the same pace they played the first, doubling almost everything – but I think that Blake was the only that actually doubled and surpassed it.
Just like the first game, we can’t get caught in the moment but this sure was a great W, a needed one, to show that the Clippers are for real – and now the Clippers themselves know what they can accomplish if played the right way.
Where is Simmons mocking Doc? Last game even though DJ was putting great numbers, Simmons was nitpicking just for the sake of attention I guess, as if DJ wasn’t playing great D. Well, DJ’s trend is quite good, his presence is clearly felt. It will take time so more people acknowledge his growth, he can pretty much be DPOY and Most Improved Player as well. I’m not saying he will nor that I care, he just have to play the way he is and that’s ALL the Clippers ever wanted of him when they signed his contract – soon we will be able to say that calling that on VDN wasn’t just a scape goat move and there is more to come on that subject.
Great game, it helped us to take a step back and take a better look at the prospects of this team, that all we thought they can achieve wasn’t simply a fluke and a delusional stuff.
PS: People should watch Open Court 304, the panel was quite fond of the Clippers taking the West – but yeah, they were aware that it depends on both Blake AND DJ stepping up, DJ is already showing that, it’s your turn Blake – I think that as the season proggress he will start to feel more comfortable, I hope he accomplishes what he said about stepping up during crunch time, that’s all everybody wants from him.
Here’s my CBL question:
When Vinny Del Negro was a Spur, he learned about being humble and showing respect by playing the “right way”. His teachings from Gregg Popovich never reached the Clippers, particularly one DeAndre Jordan. Do you believe having too much humility without being able to express yourself held DJ back? If you look at tonight’s game, the Clippers had a lot of fire in them, and they didn’t restrain it for one bit. It really helps that Doc Rivers is now their coach.
Why don’t Blake Superior get more rebounds?
This time I think it’s on DJ, in general he is better positioned but he also hustled for rebounds much more, there were several times that Blake simply couldn’t reach – his wingspam, maybe? – but 10 is not bad, he probably could had grabbed a couple more if he didn’t foul out. But I really want to see Blake dominating a game for once.
1. Did the warriors score a lot, or did the clippers give up a lot of points?
2. What was up with the turnovers? A lot of the warrior 3s came from those today.
I was thrilled by the offensive performance of the team, but I was a little concerned about their ability to defend both inside and outside at the same time.
Clippers played D, Curry was just in videogame mode, it happens. Warriors played D for a good part but they had tons of sloppy TO, just like those 3 lobs by CP3 and Blake.
Ooh, tell Ethan Strauss congrats on getting engaged and that Nor. Cal sucks.
Yes DJ Foster!!!! Crossing my fingers for Kevin Arnovitz.
Yes!!! CP3 is a flopper too. Bogut need to look good with that contract
Alley Oop! It was started by defense by CP3
and Blake, the first one was his deflection and steal – even those he was on his back to Curry’s pass
“Stop flopping!” yelled David Lee
Fantasy Basketball has a lot to do with that
Yes! Or give him the ball to try to shoot a three when they foul him to give him one more free throw attempt
Seems like the battle of the boards will be huge for this team, so two questions:
-DJ’s activity on the glass, real or fake? Can he sustain this energy level?
-How can this team compete on the glass with no rebounds off of the bench (save Matt Barnes) and shaky glasswork from the starting lineup (Blake never boxes out, and Dudley and Redick only get the balls that bounce straight to them)?
What about the Iggy contract? Is he going to be the difference maker?
Why don’t the clippers sign Jason Collin?
Collins is terrible. He’ll give you a 1ppg and 2 rpg. There is better than that.
I am worry about the big guy rotations. With only Hollins, Mullens, and Jamison mostly on bench, how can Clippers fare with team that are bigger than them?
Thank you guys!!!
Thanks for the questions!
Ethan is the reason I hate the Warriors and their fans
Why no Jamison?
