Unlike many contenders, the Clippers seem to be the only team who falls into trap games easily. Do you think other teams will now try to steal wins by purposely starting their second or third units to psyche the Clippers out? Will the trend of underestimating their opponents continue to hurt the Clippers in a way where it could end up becoming a viable strategy in the playoffs?
No way. MIA lost to PHI, off the top of my head. This is not a thing.
Yup. A lot of the contenders and fringe contenders are also playing terribly right now (Chicago, Memphis and Brooklyn). This is a fairly common problem among most good teams.
I wouldn’t put the Bulls there, they are getting their shit together, even more with a W over the Pacers.
but nonetheless, they’ve played pretty bad to start the season.
really? with losses to Heat and Pacers as two of their only 3 losses, I wouldn’t say that’s simply bad. the other loss was against the 76ers that also won against the Heat and that had been playing without MCW past couple of games.
same could be said for the Clippers, with losses for the Lakers and Magic, two sub .500 teams and they would be kind of right, if it wasn’t for the fact that Clippers had W against all top west contenders they played against to counter that.
but I wouldn’t say that the 76ers loss is such a bad loss as the Clippers’ losses against Lakers and Magic, the 76ers won against the Bulls and Houston and they would probably be 7-4 if it wasn’t for MCW injury. their loss to Boston was worst than losing to the 76ers/
Clippers are one of few teams that has most of their games against contenders and Clippers are 5-1, with the only loss being against the Heat in that bad game. The second half of the season is going to be way easier and Clippers should gain some momentum and carry it to the Playoffs, hopefully.
As odd as this seems, Griffin has probably improved as a finisher as much as anything else. He’s converted a ridiculous amount of and-one’s on the break and driving to the rim. This from a guy who already shot an absurd percentage in the restricted area.
What’s your take on Griffin’s FT shooting? He’s looking really inconsistent at the moment, but we know he can be a great FT shooter.
Is Blake Griffin the best powerforward in the NBA now?
Im still going to go with no, but boy is he making a very good case for that title. He’s really coming together.
no, but if he keeps playing like he has been lately and maintaining the consistency he might get back to TOP#10 player conversation.
today was one of those games that if it was in his rookie season team, he would have gone for over 40. there was simply no one that could guard him.
Hi! do somebody know wich hiphop song was played at halftime
What were you guys thinking when Blake went down? I was scared. I thought the season was over. Blake is a beast.
My thought was “Holy crap, not another Chauncey!” But then he started jogging so whatever.
yeah except he already had another ankle issue during preseason, which was the right one, but nonetheless, it will always makes me worry.
the worst part of these Blake issues is that none of that happened because of contact, neither this one or the sequential ankle twists he had in preseason, which is always a bad sign, but luckily it was nothing serious.
What do you guys think of the rotations so far with Doc? Seems to have a small preference for Jamal over Reddick late in the game. Do you think he is basing his decisions on match ups or the hot hand?
There was a report that the Clippers management met with Lamar Odom on Friday. Is he a legitimate option for a big off the bench for Clips despite all the baggage?
If he gets a contract that only becomes guaranteed after January or February, Clippers doesn’t have a lot to lose and if it fails they will still have time for trade deadline and bought out, waived players.
Clippers are probably the best fit for Odom with such a inconsistent bench frontcourt, plus, he wants to stay in LA and the Lakers are no contender. It’s a matter if he accepts the conditions.
A brown paper bag would encourage teams to shoot threes, which gives a large variance. So maybe it could be better. Just put all of the paper bags in front of the restricted area to draw charges.
When can we get rid of Wolverine? aka claw hands Bullock.
What’s up with the sloppy Clippers against team they were supposed to win?
Had Clippers lost this, it would be added together with the losses to Lakers and Magic as W they were supposed to win.
As I kind of expected, the little to no improvements in Memphis are paying off but in a bad way. Hopefully Clippers will get on the floor hungry for revenge, just like they did last season in their first game against the Spurs.
Don’t forget the Lakers. They’re also a rival, but really an arch nemesis because of the history between the owners and how they each helped one another. Clippers need to beat the Lakers in the playoffs to break the curse.
Well, the Lakers gotta help by being there first. Lakers not making the Playoffs and Clippers winning is enough for breaking the curse.
Blake is best Power Forward in NBA bar none and the scariest thing about him is he is getting better go Clippers
