Did line up decisions hurt us at the end? Collison and Jamal can’t rebound and they were the crunch time wings
Bullock should been inserted earlier. He was doing a good job defensively on George, he was also making his shots. What was up with that one particular ref? It was he alone making terrible calls that really hurt the Clippers. Of course other things hurt the team but those calls from only one ref every time just stood out to me.
Al-Farouq Aminu, DeRozan or Gerald Henderson: Pick a wing to go after because the big is coming in via free agency.
Aminu might be cheap. He would not be a terrible pick up. Sure he can’t shoot. But he can play the 3 and some 4. He rebounds and defends. I like Henderson but I think Aminu being larger would be a better fit.
AFA didn’t start or play against Phily. We need one of these guys, or we’re just too unathletic on the wings.
OKC gets it, they are looking at Shumpert. We have no advantage in 3 and D guys or athleticism and scoring.
The Clipper wings/guards missed some open-ish shots they would make against most teams. This is what makes the Pacers so good defensively: they scare you into adjusting your shot/thinking about it even when you’re open.
The Clippers did not box out for fully half of the game. They got really lucky that the Pacers didn’t have more ORB. I thought their initial defense was pretty good, but the rebounding was a lot worse than the box score shows.
Question: what did you think of the initial defense on the whole? There were too many lapses for my taste, but I thought it was overall better than usual.
but the rebounding hasnt been just for this game its been there all season
I didn’t say that it was just for this game, I just said that it was especially bad for half of the game.
ik but the way you say it makes it seem like your surprised this happened when its happened all season
It was worse today than usual. Grabbing only 50% of the opponents misses is bad, and usually DJ and Griffin box out to a pretty good extent, but today they were so scrambled on defense they couldn’t get to West and Hibbert. The bench was predictably terrible at rebounding as well, but usually Griffin and DJ somewhat make up for it.
I have a theory. The Clippers should have lost to the Sacramento Kings on November 29. L.A. just can’t shake the sympathy bug out of their system whenever they go up against weaker teams. Because they escaped with a win behind Jamal Crawford’s first double-double since 2007, the Basketball Gods marked the Pacers game as an automatic loss as payback for the Clippers in underestimating a lottery team, and not being properly punished.
The only good thing today is this: Reggie Bullock is the Clipper’s only true defenseman on the roster. Doc Rivers is forced to trust in him now, with a rumor that Willie Green could miss games. And we all know about the big man issue, but at least it’s offensive rebounding based. So really, the Clippers could pick up any player of any position who has a superb offensive rebounding rate.
Here’s my CBL question:
Today’s loss proved the real problem with the Clippers lies in offensive rebounding. Do you think the Clippers could opt for an out-of-position player instead of a big (such as a guard) who possesses a favorable offensive rebounding rate similar to that of Eric Bledsoe?
I know CP is sick from those misses. That’s money for him. It just wasn’t meant. What I don’t understand is why he still waits so long. I know its his first game back. I mean he had it easy on the defensive end because he didn’t have to guard a top PG but still was nonchalant on the offensive end. I just don’t understand him.
Matt Barnes, please get well sooner than later. Dudley is not the answer by any means. I wish they had kept Bullock in longer in the fourth. I was so sick of seeing Dudley beat on the same play over and over. He’s hurt so why not play Bullock more. He’s been so inconsistent and a liability on D.
What about that Willie Nelson concert?
Reddick is better than Willie Green, but the Clippers miss Bledsoe more. collison really hurts the Clippers
It’s December, so here’s my take on the Western conference about a fourth of the way through, asssuming no injuries. The Clippers are a very good team, and they have two excellent players in Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. But that’s not enough for them to win the West. Their main problem is frontline defense.
The Rockets, Spurs, Thunder and Grizzlies are better, and all four of those teams will beat the Clippers if they meet in the first round. Houston, led by Dwight Howard’s defense, probably will win the West. They got off to a wave-tossed start but seem to have righted their ship.
Portland will not make the playoffs, despite their fast start against a very weak schedule. Denver is better than expected and will be fighting with the Clippers, Mavericks, Lakers, Warriors and T-Wolves for 4 playoff spots.
If the Clippers can make a good trade, they can elevate themselves and win the conference. But otherwise, this team will not be as good as last years’.

wish Phil Jackson was coaching this team he would of address the weakness in 3 spot because he is defensive minded prefers bigger athletic guys – would never start Jared Dudley he is someone that would of come off the bench 4 Phil also he would of find more athletes 2 go against the big Indiana team – Green would not have started in this game as well – that’s what makes him so special he’s not afraid 2 shake things up and go against the grain also CP3 would not be the focal pt of the offense in my opinion – Phil believes in highlighting strength or play 2 his strength – Phil would not of lost this game because he would not have started Dudley and would of gone more inside with Griffin or Jordan mainly Griffin because David West dies not have the foot speed 2 go with Griffin – there would of been up tempo faster pace in the game and the bench play will be situations or fill a need like 3 pt shooter, hard fouler, stealer, rebounder, passer, shot blocker, speed guy
– Doc Rivers had a tough game along with some of his players but if he continues 2 start Dudley and not play 2 his strength he would have early exit 4 the playoffs
So it’s safe to say you’re in panic mode and you’re starting the #fireDoc bandwagon. Just chill. This is the first game without Redick. The Clippers will figure it out but things will hurt for a while because nobody on this team can replace Redick’s production offensively and defensively.
He has to start Dudley cus he made that stupid trade and is hoping somehow Dudley will turn out to be better than Butler.
i havent seen Blake carry many games in his tenure to just hand him the keys of the team, especially when i see him shy away from the ball in the 4th
don’t ever do that shit again Jovan. my god
