So Stephen Jackson looked meh. I’ll take that as a stop-gap for now.
What did you think about the defense on Jeff Green? He exploded offensively this game, but I don’t know if he just had a monster game or if the Clippers failed to defend him well. It looked to me like they gave him a few semi-open looks early on which led to him getting hot and hitting contested 3s and stuff like that.
It’s hard to look anything but meh when you’re guarding Gerald Wallace who is the worst shooter in the NBA.
but he IS just a filler! c’mon, this was a really, really urgent signing, the guy has not been playing in the league and had it not been this situation, he would have some time before going out on the floor. he didn’t have any time to know the system, the plays, NOTHING, ZERO.
I’m not criticizing; I was expecting bad. I don’t expect Jackson to be anything but meh, and that’s fine, at least until we can get Barnes or Bullock back, who will likely be a little better than meh.
In case you havent been watching, Jeff Green is Bostons primary scorer this year.
Before the game, Doc said “In the long run, I want a post 3…” I don’t get why Blake can’t play this role occasionally if they signed a decent big or even now with Jamison and Mullens as “stretch 4s.”
I thought DJ played a fairly good defensive game today. He didn’t grab many rebounds or score many points, but he seemed to do a decent job at the very least. I see a lot of “DJ is useless” posted everywhere, which I don’t think is quite as true as people make it out to be. He seems like a serviceable defensive anchor, but he’s nowhere near elite at the moment, which I think has people angry. Can the Clippers be a top 5 defense with DJ as their main anchor? Top 7? What would be their ceiling?
Well, they’ve climbed up to 9th in Defensive efficiency now. That’s a major jump from where we started the season…I don’t think top 5 is unreasonable.
Any details yet on the damage done by signing Capt. Jack? How does it hurt the Clippers’ cap? Is it a guaranteed deal? If so, can we package him off for a big man this season even though nobody wants him?
Are you talking about the crazy robed guys who guard the prison?
After what happened I’ve to repeat myself.
DJ GOT TO STOP THIS STUPID MISSED HARD DUNKS!
Seriously, he has a bunch of that in the season, those easy dunks and lay ups are important, even more when you can’t make an eff FT for your life.
He is missing hard dunks every game now! WTF!? I hope that somebody gives him a heads up, those points ARE important, every missed easy point is important.
I foresee good things from now on.
Clippers’D is coming along. The bench is finally getting some things together and they don’t look like the liability they were in the beginning of the season. Put that with what they can produce with a healthy starters, it seems that this team is coming along.
oh yeah, something good about this game, Blake shot without hesitation and was it a coincidence that he hit most of them? even the three looked good.
to be fair with Jordan Crawford
he had some good games last season and he showed that he was a good passer. there are even interviews with Doc talking about that.
before the trade, in the beginning of the season he was playing well and even had a tripple double. between some injuries and John Wall coming back, his role in Washington got smaller and smaller and then he was traded since Boston had lots of injuries – including Rondo’s and Barbosa’s – and they needed a guard.
so it’s not like he was so awful like that and nobody wanted him. Wizards had Beal and Wall, there was no room for him there.
