If Blake could just bring his rookie season’s energy/hustling/aggressiveness with his present skills like he did today, that’s how Blake would look like for the whole season. MVP stuff. Nobody seems to know why he doesn’t and I don’t mean to be almost gassed out, but to play without hesitation, with aggressiveness.
It’s great to see the team not settling just for jumpers and actually going inside. I wonder why this doesn’t happen more often. Blake doesn’t put up great numbers like some other big men in the league but he does things that help the team win. His energy and hustle are infectious. He looked like rookie Blake tonight.
This game was for the panickers and complainers
The defense was pretty terrible in the 1st quarter, and then it locked down, especially on Parker. They didn’t force misses from him really, but they got the ball out of his hands and that disrupted the Spurs offense. He rarely had a chance to turn the corner, as I’ve seen from them recently. Great defensive coverage by the bigs on almost every possession.
You could really see what Doc emphasized for this game. Parker had very little pick and roll penetration and I counted 0 back cuts by the Spurs. Loved it.
I thought Stephen Jackson sparked the rally in the 2nd with a couple fluid mid range shots. He still has decent moves at his age and he plays with confidence. How will he fit in with the bench unit as soon as Barnes and Bullock come back?
I don’t know but he looked pretty good on D, he has some nice reach ins to poke the ball.
Any reason why our 3 point defense was so great tonight and horrible for most of the season? Is this sustainable?
Actually, our 3pt defense has been one of the best in the league so far this year. Our post/rim protection has been bad. Teams are beating us more with layups and pts in the paint.
Can you take a minute to talk about how fun it’s been to watch former ClipperBlog favorite Eric Bledsoe in Phoenix.
Great win great energy by Clippers – nice game 2 night by Griffin hustle toughness and got San Antonio into foul trouble made it easy 4 others nice game by CP3 made shots and did not turnover the ball made right decisions what stood out tonight was Clipper defense was better than usual still needs 2 sharpen up when playoffs comes and increase the pace more and more
nice game plan by doc but Clippers still going 2 need an athletic wing player with size 2 win championship
Great game, The crowd must’ve sparked something there. The Clippers were not going to get denied of that ‘W’ tonight. I think they play the Spurs with a chip on their shoulders and today they brought it! I liked to Crawford kept missing and all of a sudden started making all shots! Its an either hot or cold type of guy that can turn it on at any moment.
I refuse to play into any Bloggers’ constant narrative that the SAN ANTONIO SPURS are in control of everything in the universe.
We KNEW Popovich would sabotage any Clippers win, that way he’d have a way to downgrade the intensity or meaningfullness of any Clippers’ win. It always works, and people but into it. Sadly for him the Clippers are going to be better in March April May just like the elite teams now. The Clippers are just getting going.
If you look at the game flow, you’ll notice the Spurs weren’t at any advantage when TONY PARKER was in the game except for the initial 1st Quarter outburst.
Blake and DeAndre have gotten much better since the Summer and the Spurs are older. The Clippers are far more athletic than San Antonio and the days of being dominated and mesmerized by Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter are long over — ancient history.
Stephen Jackson guarded Kawhi, Diaw and Bonner and did a masterful job, +14 player rating in the first half, +21 for the game, he is a major help and made $10 M dollars last night. He is a monumental “unlock” for the Clippers roster.
I do not care about Spurs bloggers, I am not indebdted tho them a single cent, and I refuse to buy into their Spurs-centric UNIVERSE that everythng revolves around them.
Next time we play the Spurs, we’re going to throttle them again. Popcorn game flow link. Please examine it if you think ANTAWN JAMISON sparked anything.
$10M last “year” Jackson made. — typo
