Do you believe this loss has forced Doc Rivers into making very difficult trades and waives? I feel as if media pundits will use the Spurs game as evidence towards why the Clippers must trade Blake Griffin for Carmelo Anthony, for example.
Not sure why you would even think this. Trading Melo for Blake is asinine because CP3 is hurt so it wouldn’t make a difference. No educated media people would think this.
I’d trade Carmelo for BG, but it’ll never happen, BG sells tickets
Why would you trade Blake for Melo? Blake is the better player.
That’s a matter of opinion. I think more people would say Carmelo is better though. It doesn’t matter though, cus this trade will never happen.
It is not a matter of opinion that Blake is better than Melo. It is a fact that Blake is better than Melo. Blake is a better rebounder and defender. He also has a better motor than Melo in his efforts on defense. Melo has shown spurts of effort on defense and has never played it on a consistent level. Blake is a higher IQ player in terms of reading doubles and passing out. Blake is also a better passer and makes others better. Blake still has more upside to his game and continuously gets better. Melo is basically plateauing in terms of his development as a player. Melo is the better scorer and that is basically the extent of his game. He is more or less a black hole and a ball stopper. If Melo had a more well-rounded game, he would be better than Blake.
The only thing that’s true is that Carmelo is older and BG has some potential left.
They play at different positions, but I think Carmelo is a better defender and rebounder. He can also spread the floor by shooting the 3 and take over games. I’d probably want Kevin Love over Carmelo, but not BG.
Also, I don’t think and never though CP3 and BG play that well together.
It’s all a matter of opinion of opinion though.
Melo would be the better defender if he tried most of the game instead of sometimes playing it. But Blake plays hard on both ends of the floor and has gotten better on defense so it is a moot point. You’re the only one here who would want to trade Blake for Melo.
This Blake for Melo rumor is the biggest pile of crap. Blake isn’t going anywhere. Anyone that knows and follows the Clippers knows this. Please move on from this silly rumor.
The 3rd quarter was encouraging. I liked the communication. I don’t think the team will be blown out on a regular basis sans CP3.
Hopefully Bullock will be back soon so the Clips will at least have a full guard lineup. Just think, a short time ago their biggest problem was depth in their bigs. Now they’ve got their 2 best guards (and 2 of their best 3 players) out long-term.
I feel like the Clippers are extremely lucky to have a pretty easy stretch for the next month w/o Paul. They only face 4 teams with a record of .500 or higher. Hopefully they don’t lose too much ground in the West before he comes back. But if you take away Paul, even with a healthy Reddick, I do not see this team making the playoffs even as a 8th seed in the West since it is wayyy too stacked. I could see them finishing maybe 9th or 10th, just missing it with a record slightly above .500.
I thought Darren Collision would have develop into a better defensive player than I have seen but he as disappointed me he does not use his athleticism wisely not tough enough we miss Eric Bledsoe toughness and raw explosiveness if Darren could defend better clippers could be more patient with his problems as a distributor – Jamal Crawford as been in the league a long time but he is softest player on clippers I know doc is used 2 tough hard nose players diving 4 loose balls giving hard fouls pressuring all over the court, helping teammates, being very unselfish, getting rebounds, pushing the ball instead of getting style points by behind the back dribbles when you really need playground basketball you put toughness in your play, play like this game is personal it affects the ultimate goal – Willie Green is undersize and not a sharp shooter not a great defender not speed guy not versatile does not have a skill that can make teams respect him should have not been sign that is a management error – Malik Wayans showed some smartness as a passer sees the floor, his shot looked a little inconsistent played tough defense stayed with his man but is just 2 small and maybe slower because of injury but plays better defense than Collison and Crawford put together
