Is there something more to the re-signing of Maalik Wayns besides favoritism or reducing the tax burden? For example, Doc could use him to guard a LeBron James or Paul George the same way Phil Jackson used Tyronne Lue to guard Allen Iverson.
Also, what’s your take on Hedo Turkoglu? I think Doc only wants players who won’t be a distraction or deterrent to Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan’s nice guy personalities. Something about Turkoglu turns me off for some reason.
Did you just say use Maalik Wayns to guard LeBron??? Sorry if there is something I miss undersood
Yep. This is not a joke question; this is serious. There are opponents in the playoffs that could give the Clippers trouble. Who’s going to stop Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, Eric Bledsoe, and whatever point guard gets in their way? I feel that Doc wants to save Wayns for something big, and that could be trying to defend somebody in the playoffs if they want to win a banner that isn’t the Pacific Division. Wayns may be served the same way Ryan Hollins would – a sacrificial foul lamb to save Chris Paul and Darren Collison from fouling out. Tonight was an example of that, for Collison did foul out.
Chris Paul a 5 time, all defensive team member would probably be a good start to defend other teams point guards.
If we want to win in the playoffs CP3 has gotta be amazing and play 42+ minutes a night. If we need to put Wayns in at all during the playoffs, we are effectively screwed.
So no, he is not being signed to defend in the playoffs.
Your second question: Turkoglu was busted using steroids 2ish years ago and while he was using steroids his stats were on a serious decline. And now we’re going to try to play an even older, steroid free turkoglu and expect his production to somewhat be double what it was two years ago (otherwise he will just be a negative on both ends), is maybe the craziest/idiotic idea the Clippers front office has tried to push in quite sometime.
Clippers reached the 100 pts mark leading by 16, then they decided they would only shoot 3s and so they did, 5 consecutive misses, all 3s. Guess what? That’s when Celtics started to make a come back into the game. Clippers got sloppy with the ball, they turned an inbound into a TO and hell broke loose, this almost ended in a nightmare… hahahaha…
Blake’s assists will get higher and higher during CP3′s absence, I wonder if he can get his averages up to 4 or more.
I want Blake’s rebounding numbers to stay consistent in the double figures. I think the assist numbers will increase. But I don’t like it when he grabs single digit rebounds, he’s much better than that.
People got spoiled by his rookie season.
The problem is that Blake is key for their transition D, so DJ is the one in charge for offensive boards while Blake has got to go back. So, except for put back and nea.r the basket offensive boards, Blake won’t be getting many of them, while in his rookie season he has getting those and DJ was no where near what he is bringing, Blake didn’t need to share rebounds with somebody like him.
But we all feel a bit disappointed when Blake doesn’t get at least 10
I think it’s the Lawler’s Law philosophy. Once they hit 100 points, they think they’ve automatically won the match, but the reality is the opposite. On Twitter, I make it a habit to call those 100 marks FATALITIES (Scorpion or Sub-Zero). But if the other team were to reach 100, I change that into a Mercy. When two teams have 100 points, I claim that it’s anybody’s game, that there’s no fatality at stake, but it can be reversed. All that has to happen is for one team to surpass the other teams lead to have the Scorpion or Sub-Zero FATALITY imposed on the other.
(Yes, Mortal Kombat references.)
I’m a bit disappointed at T-Wolves, Rubio, Love and Pek are healthy, I really thought they would be much better than they are. Love will never be MVP with a team that can’t even make the Playoffs.
For the Clippers, GSW losing to the Nets was really great and the night would had been even better if Suns had lost, even if it’s to the T-Wolves.
The T-wolves lose a lot of close games, they actually have a positive point differential even with a losing record. And rubio is really, really overrated. Teams pretty much defend him the same way they’d defend DeAndre, don’t guard him unless he’s within 5 feet of the basket. They also have an awful bench.
But Love, Pek and Martin have been lights out this year.
I thought Rubio was shooting better during preseason, I don’t know what happened. Overrated or not, I liked to watch him play and I also like Pek just making his way into the basket… hahahaha…
Bledsoe is out, so I guess the main competitor to climb up during the CP3′s absence is GSW.
Who’s the sexiest LA journalist? Does Jim Hill’s mustache get its own ranking?
Okafor will almost assuredly not be waived; the Suns aren’t ranking anymore.
