Is Barnes’ offensive resurgence sustainable or is it a fluke?
Another solid win, but I am concerned our high-scoring offense, continuing to result in wins, overshadows our weak defensive efforts. We should not be giving up 110 points to the Pelicans. There are way too many wide open layups surrendered and second chance points are killing us. Do we really think this formula can work in the playoffs?
We did give up 110 points tonight, but we held them to 42.5% shooting. That’s pretty solid defense.
As the clips are fond of saying, defense doesn’t end until you get the rebound.
Their 20 o-boards led to 28 points…need to commit to boxing out…should have been a straight route, o-boards let the pelicans back in it a few times, cutting the lead to single digits.
They shot 35 fta as well which is a ton and most came because we were up so the score is very misleading we took them to the woodshed on both sides of the ball
Are there any similarities or differences in style of play between Big Baby and Boris Diaw? How will the two match each other up in the playoffs? I asked Fred Katz this question earlier, and his response to me was, “They have more chunks than Campbell’s soup.” (It’s true.)
