What is the Clipper’s definitive Big 3? Doc’s pick was Paul-Griffin-Jordan, but Jordan doesn’t have an accolade (DPOY or All Star) to prove his superstar status. I made the vote for Granger because he was once a face of the franchise and has an All Star selection. Could it be possible that the Clippers have TWO Big 3s in Paul-Griffin-Granger and Paul-Griffin-Jordan? Or, does the third wheel vary on a per game basis?
Slow your role tiger…. Granger has had two decent games.
He’s basing Granger being part of the big 3 because of his past accolades as an all-star. DJ is the part of the big 3 because his defense has been so important to the team this year. DJ has been more important to this team than Granger has as seen by the team’s performance leading up until Granger’s signing. Alfredo’s logic is very flawed. It’s like saying Kobe’s still the best player in the game when Lebron and Durant passed him up on that 4 years ago just because Kobe has 5 rings and all of his other accolades while Lebron and Durant combined have accomplished much less.
If and when Redick comes back, will we still see the Barnes/Granger wing combo? What will the playoff rotation look like? Too many quality wings competing for minutes.
It’s beginning to look like Granger may get the starting gig. Right now, he’ll stay a bench player for the rest of the season, until probably the last week. But by then, Reggie Bullock may start in the final regular season game because he won’t get any opportunities in the playoffs. Those spots will belong to Granger, Barnes and Dudley.
Barnes has been awesome, can’t see him losing the starting spot. Granger probably will get the primary back-up role though.
Granger’s not starting at the 2.
That may come to pass if and only if J.J. Redick is declared out for the season. Mark Travis at Clips Nation made a case that a Paul-Granger back court would be a 180°: http://www.clipsnation.com/2014/3/12/5503386/clippers-take-down-the-warriors-111-98
My dogs, my cat, and my lady flash their very disapproving and startled faces at me when I holler after a Blake Griffin dunk. What’s a good strategy to maintain a happy house when the Clippers are on?
Clippers continue to impress. They are on a winning streak without any of their primary shooting guards on the court (Redick and Crawford) and with Chris Paul shooting poorly. Their depth really shone through tonight with Granger, Davis, Green and Collison all making contributions. With Barnes and Davis in the game, Griffin and Jordan are more free to roam and make plays on defense. This looks like the best team in the NBA right now.
Flying Lion!? Do you like that moniker for Blake? Blake is a beast indeed, no confusion there. Granger is looking good.
It seems like every game now Blake is making at least 1 or 2 errant passes trying trying to showboat (White Chocolate-style) that lead to turnovers. shouldn’t doc get him to be more disciplined?
I don’t think so, Doc knows Blake will figure things out, taking that away like that would simply create a limitation on him. Let him play, just give him tips and he will start to recognize moments when it works and when he should settle.
Damn he killed Harrison Barnes.
Dirk is probably top-five?
griffin is a mythological creature with the body, tail, and legs of a lion but with the head and wings of an eagle
he is Blake “Griffon”!
A Griffin is a flying Lion. Like a Liger but different.
