ClipperBlog Proudly Supports “Kids in Seats”

Posted by Mike Fiske (admin) On December - 15 - 2009

Happy Holidays ClipperBlog readers. We would like to briefly take a moment and ask you to please consider donating your unwanted tickets to help at-risk children. The process is simple.

From Kids In Seats:

A General Overview
Kids In Seats was built on one the value of one insight: the intrinsic value of sports. How many people have we known who have looked to athletes as role models? Or received an educational scholarship for athletic excellence? Sport’s capacity for team building and personal growth makes it the ideal medium for reaching out to at-risk children. By giving kids the opportunity see their heroes up close we hope that they will be given greater motivation to mirror the discipline, character, and teamwork that those athletes embody.

The Long Term Plan
Because our business model utilizes Ticketmaster’s ticket forwarding technology, Kids In Seats is compatible with every major team in every major city. We hope to process 20,000 tickets in 2010 and by 2011 we anticipate a major national launch. Right now, we are fundraising to make that dream a reality. But the potential for a large-scale philanthropic movement is so great and so easily accessible that it is hard not to be excited.

How to Donate
Step 1. Log into your Clippers Season Ticket Holder Account
Step 2. Click Ticket Forwarding
Step 3. Designate tickets@kidsinseats.com as the email address and press send.

Once you’ve completed that easy process we will email you a tax receipt at the end of the sports season (just in case there are multiple donations).

Whom We Work With
We work with organizations like Pete Carroll’s A Better LA, the California Police Activities League, and 826 LA. Kids In Seats also works with foster homes, orphanages and schools. A real effort has been made to target organizations who work with anti-gang initiatives, and to reward students in rough schools who are top academic achievers. We want to provide real incentives for academic success and demonstrate the value of positive life choices.

Our Partners
We’ve partnered with Velocity Gyms, Essential Chocolates, Miller Lite’s advertising agency the Hauser Group, and JATA Health services.

Clipperblog Introduces Mobile Edition for iPhone

Posted by Mike Fiske On September - 15 - 2009

cbmobileWe’ve launched a mobile version of clipperblog.com. You do not have to download anything and it’s completely free. This is a “web-application” experience and is compatible with the iPhone as well as the iPod touch with wifi access. This should also work with Google’s Android, Blackberry 9500 and 9530. Basically any touch-screen mobile device.

How to use: Launch the Safari web browser app (on your iPhone) and go to http://clipperblog.com.

Loading times on the mobile version are significantly shorter thanks to a design that has been built on the iPhone mobile theme.

There’s an option on the bottom of screen to easily switch between the mobile view and the site’s regular view if you ever want to go back to the non-mobile version.

All of the main features of the regular site are available in the mobile version such as search, post a comment, twitter link, categories, tags, archives, photos and more. Screen shots as well as an overview of the features are below:

If you have any issues, comments or just want to say thanks, feel free to make a comment.

Thanks,
